The Donut Bar & Cafe — Restaurant in Yakima

Bagels are OK, service is terrible and like the other reviewer, there seems to be some issues with prices. Like a lot of restaurants these days, the place is chronically understaffed--have tried several times to get a donut or bagel on the way to work but only person behind counter (I'm suspecting owner) was too busy "making connections" with guests or very slowly placing donuts in box to serve me. Something is wrong when there's no one in line and you're waiting over 10 minutes to get served at a coffee, donut and bagel place.

More troublingly, the one time I did get served I was charged a different price than what was on the menu sitting on the counter (The only menu in sight). I pointed out the discrepancy and the employee and the owner got into a debate about whether I was being overcharged on account of a credit card fee that was not disclosed, or because the price had changed without the publicly displayed menu being updated. I just walked out as the debate continues, feeling disrespected and ripped off. Interesting to see that I am the second reviewer to report similar price games.

The service was good, but they got my order wrong. I asked for jalapeno bagels with cream cheese and they ended up giving me cheddar bagels. They gave my bagels to some other customers, because we ordered the last jalapeno bagels and he ordered the cheddar ones, we ended up with the cheddar ones. Also, the apple fritter had a hair in it. It was gross 🤮. I would have gone back in to say something but the teenagers looked distracted and just the giggling with each other. This will definitely be the last time I come and I will definitely let my friends and family know that it's not the same like before. I think they need to have an adult on hand...

I stop in here basically every morning before I head to Ellensburg for class. Not only do I get super friendly service first thing in the morning I'm talking right as they open, but I also get amazing conversation. they make surprise Red bulls for me on flavors they know that I like. I even have my own special bagels sandwich that I get because I love garlic so much. The bagels are super good feeling and flavorful....
