I guess it’s changed hands since our last visit and all I can say is unfortunately we won’t be back. We’ve had a condo since the 80’s and this was one of our favorite places. It started when my husband put cream in his cup of coffee and it curdled. Same thing happened with 2nd bowl of creamers. Watched them take them in and out of the fridge, that is the problem. Been in the business 30 years , creamers do not need to be refrigerated. And if you do refrigerate them they always have to be refrigerated. Use to love your eggs benedict, this was the worst I ever had. I asked for the English muffin to be crispy. It was barely cooked . The eggs were so runny I didn’t eat as I was afraid of getting sick, the hollandaise had a sour taste to it. Never told the server because she never checked back with us. Three servers sitting in a booth, not one ever checked to see how our food was, had to stop one of them to refill our coffee, had to get up and ask one of them to get our check. Can’t blame them totally as who ever is responsible for the training isn’t doing their job, these girls obviously were never trained correctly. We knew something seemed strange when we pulled in and only saw 3 cars in lot on a Saturday morning, use to be a line...

If I could give negative stars I would. We are vacationing in the area and love to support small local business... well that was a HUGE mistake here. From the moment we walked in we were an inconvenience to the servers, 3 younger teens who did not speak but mumbled. A party of 4 and 6 walked in after us, got drinks before us. Then we watched then walk out. I should have taken that hint. But being on vacation we had time so we waited another 20 min for our order to be taken and then 55 more min for food to arrive. All the while not a word from the servers and watching them and the kitchen staff with a lackadaisical demeanor. We watched ppl walk in and look at the dirty tables with no place to sit, we watched them go up to servers who once again were put out to have ppl there. When the food arrived it was okay but very overwhelming. Not a single person said thank you at all we ended up leaving cash and walked out bc the servers were sitting in and empty booth playing with straws and couldnt be inconvenienced again to take our card for the bill, she huffed when we asked for the bill. Stay away from this one. They don't want your business...

"THIS IS RUN BY NEW MANAGEMENT," Says it right as you are walking into the place. The menu is definitely not what it used to be (As expected with new owners.) The lunch menu isn't any better. Just to get a plain omelette is $10, with nothing on it. To add stuff it costs between $1-$2, depending on how many things you want to add on (Does not come with sides.) There are three cooks in the back, YET THEY ARE DOING ORDERS ONE AT A TIME. When we finally did get our order it wasn't what we ordered. The people that I was with didn't get the bread they wanted, as well as the omelette was missing one ingredient that was asked for (onions.) I got sunny side up eggs which were over done. The staff looked like teenagers that, or twenties. They weren't good but they weren't bad. You can tell after awhile they start to focus on people who haven't gotten served and etc.

The place? Looks the same way it did a year ago (which I believe was still owned by the original owners.) They take cards now as well as cash, unlike the old place which only took cash.

Lastly, THE TACO...

Walking into this diner was amazing. The decorations were very cool, and I love the Elvis slot the best. I got the #1 route 28, and my boyfriend got the #2 route 6. The food was good but everything had this interesting oily taste to it, even the pancakes. For the pancakes, they offer plain, blueberry, or chocolate chip. Everyone who knows me knows that I love me some chocolate chip pancakes, so I had to get those. I think the bathroom was my favorite place there because of all the license plates. They had some around the diner, but the walls and ceiling of the bathroom were covered in them. So cool. The staff there was very nice and the chef was very quick. They even have an area outside that you can eat at.

The food was downright atrocious, disappointing in every detail. The omelets were completely flavorless, small, and had barely any filling. The serving of home fries that came with the meal was laughable — maybe a spoonful at best. The pancakes were thick, dry, and had the texture of cement mix. On top of all that, the prices were surprisingly high for the poor quality and tiny portions. The service was equally lackluster. It’s a real shame what Joe’s Diner has become — Route 28 Diner just doesn’t live up to the name it once had. The inside is just as original as when it sold years ago, which saves the rating from a 0

I went with my dad to this place after we were coming back from my tournament and I ordered the route 28 burger. The burger was massive, juicy, and delicious and he said it was the best burger he ever had. And its not just the food that was so good, the server was so nice and patient and wanted to help. And to top that, the whole place was decorated with really cool toys and license plates that were super cool that kept us interested! So yea, i would definitely recommend going to this place!
