The mini golf here isn't very fun, and the arcade is EXPENSIVE.
The mini golf looks awesome, with a cool 'skull Island' beach theme, but it's one of the least fun of all the mini golf places on the cape.
Most every hole on the course is on an incline or decline as it ascends and descends through the layout of the 'skull Island', they're not level, meaning that if you don't hit it correctly on the inclines it rolls allllll the way back. Happened constantly during our game.
BECAUSE of the inclines and declines, the area around the hole itself is curved towards the hole, so that if your ball gets close to it, it will roll directly into the hole. That makes it less challenging.
The putting greens themselves are not very fun. Most every hole in mini golf will have a design to it that usually makes a hole-in-one possible if you can figure out which specific way to hit it, which wall or rock to hit your ball off, or which direction and obstacles to go towards. This course has almost none of that, and in fact, a lot of the course is simply designed in a way that you physically can't get close to the hole. It takes the fun out of playing, and your group will constantly find themselves with their balls grouped together for the second stroke.
Also, play during the day because the lighting is very poor at night. You wouldn't think so because the place looks bright from the street, but the lights are displaying the cool 'skull Island' design elements and NOT the putting greens. Very hard to see.
The ARCADE is also ENTIRELY games for tickets, except for 4 Games and the claw machines. It's RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE. Each game cost $1, $1.25, $2, or $2.50 to play. You have to purchase a gaming card to play and the options start at $20. So for $20, with the 'bonus money' they give you, the most times you can play a game is 28 turns.
There is a driving range, electric Go-Karts, and...
Read moreWe post no cash refunds so this allows us to steal from consumers. Went here with my wife and 2 sons for some go carting and arcade games. After paying cash (24 dollars) for 2 double go carts we sat down in the vehicles and my 3 year old went bazerk. I tried to get him to sit but it just wasn't gonna happen. So the attendant said that it was ok. He handed us our ticket back and told us to go get a refund. I was disappointed because I knew how much he wanted to ride but I guess he's just not ready for it.
We walked into the store and to get the refund and go to the arcade. The attendant in the store gave us the bad news that there would be no refund and that we could get a 10 dollar credit for mini golf or driving range. I asked if they could just credit us for the arcade. Their reply was astonishing. She said that they couldn't give us a credit for the arcade because they don't own the machines. Don't own the machines??? What kind of backwards garbage is this? The fact that they feel that giving us a credit for mini golf is hilarious. One person for golf is like a bill for the 3 others in my party. Not to mention its still surrendering my 12 dollars.
This place claims to be family oriented and run. My guess is that they've made a fortune screwing tourists for years. We frequent the Cape on an annual basis. We wont b back to skull island. I'm not telling anyone to not come here but once the cash leaves your hand, it's gone. Don't expect any leniency or common sense. Very unhappy...
Read moreArcade/front desk workers were great handling my dilemma. After winning several jackpots (I pride myself as a semi-pro arcade goer) I headed to the prize desk to pick up my treasure: a 2000 ticket skateboard. After the purchase (my friend was the actual buyer) we ran outside to frolic with our new skateboard. However, the very second it touched the humid, warm air of paradisiacal Cape Cod, it burst into two pieces!! We didn’t even touch it yet at all!! Immediately, my friend broke down in tears. So, being the hero I am, I marched back into the building and explained everything to the wonderful two women working the counter. Although one of the teen boys gave me a nasty glare (almost considered taking a star off…got lucky this time) the two girls listened intently to me and politely gifted me another board. Safe to say it was the greatest day of my life, surpassing the birth of my son. Definitely recommend Skull...
