Upon arrival, with our two year old in the stroller, we were told they couldn't accommodate the stroller, so we said great our son is tired anyway, can we just get our order to go.. No, you can't do that because the kitchen is busy My wife said well we had a reservation anyway, What's the difference if we eat here or at home? The old bat said with a scowl and attitude that its a busy place and they make food to order per table and she said "come on, i mean really" with quite the attitude. So after calming my wife down, i said okay i guess we will put the stroller outside and eat here. Then we were seated. The server said we are out of lasagna. I said okie dokie, and i thought to myself.. i thought everything was made to order how are they out? Then the server said " i know my grandmother said you couldnt take your food to go but you can" Reservation was for 8 pm, and we arrived kinda early. Waited over an hour for our dinner, which in fairness was ALOT. Our bill came to about 150 dollars. Food was awesome. Our server - sadly didnt get her name - was awesome. She kept giving us garlic bread and checking on us and helping us, very attentive even though we were ordering takeout, and she probably didn't expect much of a tip. Our 2 year old was a little antsy in his pantsy but was very well behaved considering the hour and a half wait. Overall very good place, beware of the old lady cryptkeeper up front shes ornery for no real reason, but once you get passed her the place is amazing. Just be prepared to wait for the food, In my opinion, it's a little stuffy for kids, Desserts were tiny The maine lobster raviolis were the same ones i buy at bjs. Not really complaining. I'm just kinda letting you know. Honestly, i recommend this place, I used to come as a kid, and now, 20 some years later, I was excited to share it...
Read moreMimmos might be the friendliest place we visited during our stay in York. We were cheerfully greeted at the door and seated immediately. It is B.Y.O.B, which we didn't realize, I would have enjoyed a glass of wine or a cocktail to go with the million dollar view of Long Sands. Kerry was taking care of us and she made the evening so much more enjoyable, she was helpful and attentive. The decor in the main rooms is a bit dated, but not without charm. The covered addition where we sat was a bit more modern and very clean. The entrees come with an large serving of garlic bread ( 6" loaf ?) And a fresh side salad. The entrees were generous in portion size, but very bland. I also found the prices to be outrageously expensive approximately $25.00 for lasagna and the same for ravioli with sausage. The lasagna had a meatball or sausage option on the side ( brought it up to $25) the meatballs were oddly sweet. Parking is adequate as there was additional parking behind the building. Overall I enjoyed the experience but probably wouldn't go back again due to the cost and the blandness of the food. Loved the...
Read moreWent on the 4th of July which was also my daughter’s birthday. The food and service were excellent. We got the raviolis, shrimp scampi, chicken broccoli Alfredo, and chicken parm. Everything was delicious. It’s right on the beach with a great view. Cute, homey vibe inside. It’s BYOB so bring your wine. They came out with desert, candles, and sparklers and all the waitstaff sang happy birthday. Before going we heard mixed reviews from people who loved up here but hadn’t been to the restaurant in a while. After having dinner tonight I had to write a review because we all loved it. When a family of 5 with a 14 year old, 8 year old, and 3 year old (2 of which are picky eaters) can have a good meal it’s a total win. Our waitress Amy was beyond friendly, knowledgeable, and on top of everything asking questions before we even thought of it. Highly recommend! This place should be packed every night. Also we are from Boston and are used to the North End, so our food standards are high and we were...
