The waitress was nice but everything else was terrible. When being seated the server told me they were out of one of the three lunch special dishes. I tried to order about 3 different things and They didn't have any of them in stock. Until finally I realized I was order what I could get and not what I wanted. Not the feeling I should have when I'm paying for food at a restaurant. So I finally ended up ordering chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks, I figured you can't mess those up. Yet somehow they did. They came out of the kitchen about 5 minutes later. The mozzarella sticks were cold. I worked in a restaurant. You don't trust chicken that's cooked for 5 minutes and mozzarella sticks take 7 minutes to cook. They are cheese but they are dense little things. I showed the server and she goes "I don't understand I just brought them from the freezer and watched her cook them"... I don't understand what that has to do with how long they were cooked? It's cheese, I broke one in half and plainly stated, it's cheese, if it was hot it would be melted. She sent them back and they came back so over cooked that the cheese exploded out of the breading so it was just empty sticks of panko breading and a pile of cheese at the bottom of the tray. I worked in restaurants for years, I haven't seen that before, I didn't know that could happen. The fries were overly vinegary and oily. I have been sick all day since then. I should've sent everything back. They didn't just ruin my meal or waste my time and money. My life and health is now specifically worse and I'm wondering about the cleanliness of the kitchenware because I do not easily get sick. The only thing I'm allergic to is mushrooms and now I am going to the bathroom every 30 minutes all afternoon. Also I thought it was odd that my servers switched in the middle of my meal. But whatever. Also they only served water out of a Collins glass. Very odd and extremely inconvenient. I tipped overly well because I think it's unfair that a sweet waitress has to suffer from poor business management and they probably aren't making very much money during a lunch shift if the restaurants always like that. I hope she finds a better business to place her efforts with the business owner set her up...
Read moreI have always wanted to go to Golden Dawn, living in the Youngstown area and going to ursuline, I have never been there. I was looking forward to it cuz I've always heard good things, we went yesterday and did not know that they close at 9:00 p.m. I wish they would have told us cuz we would have came back another day. My daughter and I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and it came out cold, we had them nuke it up so it would be hot for us. As we were eating they were vacuuming the booths, sweeping and mopping the floors, I know they have to get ready to close but please don't vacuum up floors while I'm eating. The waitress was nice but took our plates and our bread very quickly, I wanted a couple more bites of my salad but she said the dishwasher needed the plates to wash. She gave us our bill and as my son-in-law was paying for it my daughter asked for a half a glass of diet pop, waitress took the bill back took her glass and refilled it then added another $1.79 to the bill! Really ! All she wanted was a little bit more to wash down her meal. I was very disappointed and like I said I always wanted to go there cuz I've always heard good things. When we walked in they just should have told us that they were closing and we would have came back another day, and then maybe a...
Read moreUnfortunately had the worst experience ever, and we ignored it the first few times but wow it just never stopped! Ordered a coke with my water. He never brought it but remembered to put it on our bill. We ordered the Italian rolls for an appetizer, they were still ice cold on the inside, still not a huge deal. Then our waiter brought our salad and bread and butter. I asked for another side of dressing which he remembered to bring but it was sweet and sour? I don’t even know. While sitting waiting for our meals an older gentleman started cleaning up our table and asked if we wanted dessert I had to tell him we hadn’t even ate our meals yet. Took all of my husbands silverware. Then half way through eating my bread my husband pointed out mold! I waited and told the woman who brought our meals and all she said was “oh my goodness, it’s because it’s so humid, it’s delivered fresh everyday, but I’ll let my husband know”. The actual meal was ehhh okay. But the service way absolutely insane. Then as mentioned before, we got the bill, charged with the coke I never even got. All we could do was laugh because it was that terrible. So $50 for moldy bread and...
