Rotolo's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Youngsville

SEE UPDATE BELOW* I ordered to-go from Rotolo's and it was ok. My kids liked their pizza but not the crust, that seems to be everyone's favorite thing, so I was surprised when they said it was gross. Their Cesar side salad was mostly hearts and not really worth it. If your order a cheese calzone with no toppings it comes with the smallest amount of cheese in it and is mostly bread and gummy cheese. The marinara sauce is extremely sweet and I didn't enjoy it at all. I was hoping to like Rotolo's since the reviews have been mostly positive. UPDATE We gave Rotolos another try, mainly because we had the spinach dip at a party and it was really good. Tonight we ordered pizza, spinach dip and a pasta dish. The pizza was ok, the spinach dip was good, the pasta was horrible. Way over cooked, the sauce was watered down and there seemed to be pockets of water in it; like the pasta wasn't drained or they tried to add more volume. I couldn't even pick the pasta up with a fork, it just turned to mush and broke . The small garlic knots were raw inside, when I bit into it I thought it was filled with cheese because of the texture. Verdict, the spinach dip is good but everything else seems very inconsistent. There are too many better choices in Youngsville or close by to waste the...

The staff here is some of the best in the area. They're friendly, nice, and very attentive. I had all my questions answered with confidence and our server was fantastic. It's not my favorite kind of pizza, but that's more of a personal thing. The pizza is a bit thicker than I prefer, but the sauce and cheese were both very good. I'll definitely go back in the next few weeks. I want to try a few different things next time.

Second visit update: My second visit, unfortunately, was very disappointing. We arrived for an early dinner just before 6 PM. We were one of three tables in the restaurant at this time. We ordered two appetizers which were decent. Then ordered pizza. The pizza took over 45 minutes to come out, but that was after having not seen our server for about 30 minutes. Most of our drinks were empty, and there was zero communication about what was going on. That was the part that made the experience extremely disappointing. I understand that kitchens can get busy, or even confused about an order. What I don't understand is a lack of communication about the status of your food. We are thankful that they ended up comping the pizzas, but I still don't know if we...

On valentines night, we went for spaghetti. It took over 30 minutes to hear that they were out of our appetizer. Another 30 minutes for a different waiter to ask if we needed anything. We then put in a new appetizer and our meal. Within 20 minutes our appetizer arrived. Waiting another 20 minutes and we asked if they started our food. We waited another 10 minutes with no response, so we went to the counter to hear they forgot to ask. Almost 2 hours and our meal was not served. I knew it was a bad sign when the place was not packed and many people walked in to be turned away. This is my last trip to the youngsville la location.
