I'm always pumped when there's a new coffee spot opening nearby, and was extra excited to find out that there's a new Yemeni coffee house in Ypsi!
The interior of Sana'a is a great layout -- super clean and it feels very premium. I definitely appreciate that there are a lot of seating options, offering good choices regardless of if you're there to catch up with friends or get some work done.
The menu offers a mix of standard coffee shop fare, and some favorites you might find in another Yemeni coffee shop. On my recent visit I got an iced Mofawar (which was excellent), and picked up a slice of pistachio cheesecake as well. I always appreciate a good honeycomb as well, and Sana'a 's honeycomb meets what you'd expect! (Also... if you haven't had honeycomb before... you're missing out and you need to get on that!)
The only asterisk to Sana'a is the wait time... I've experienced this myself and other friends have reported similar feedback, but if you're planning a quick visit to Sana'a, you might want to allocate at least 30 minutes. It's definitely a high quality experience, but it seems like they have more demand than they can handle, and even after you put in your order, you'll be waiting for a while to get your items back.

I got the iced pistachio latte with soy (make sure you ask about dairy in the pistachio part) and it was SO good. It tastes like pistachio nougat which is one of my favorite desserts of all time. Just about as sweet too ha ha. The coffee itself was also very tasty, I took a sip before I mixed it all up and it was smooth and flavorful. For only having one person making the coffees they were very fast and busy. Will definitely be going again to try more coffees or when I need a sweet treat. They also had a lot of desserts I was unable to try but looked incredible for...
Read moreFirst time visit yesterday, needed a place to study and have coffee with pastries or desserts to stay awake. The staff is kind and attentive but relaxed. The decor is amazing and classy, and the food and drinks I had were very good! All together, best coffee shop atmosphere I've experienced in a long time.
I had the Pistachio Latte, a Tiramisu Cake slice, and a Pistachio Cheesecake (got this to go). All 3 are amazing, The cheesecake is so creamy and not too sweet, perfect. Tiramisu Cake was delicious and light to eat. Next time I want to try a Turkish Coffee as well as the Pistachio Latte.
In conclusion, Sanaa Coffee House is amazing and you should definitely give them a try! You...
