Mami’s Mexican — Restaurant in Zachary

Disappointed. Initially, I wanted to solely purchase the Mexican Apple Pie but ultimately decided their taco dish because of the good reviews. Called to place a pick-up order for one fish (tilapia) taco, one mahi mahi taco and one shrimp taco and asked that none be fried. The hostess/order taker confirm that none are fried.

After driving 25 minutes to pick up, I was greeted with 'apologies, but the tacos come in trio set and only the tilapia fish tacos were prepared'. My response, 'could I take just have the one fish taco because I did not want all three that are tilapia?' They couldn't offer that or accommodate me.

Later, the manager explained that they tried to call me but I didn't pick up. Not sure if I believe that because the shrimp taco was not even prepared, as she explained it could be prepared as a single and not a trio. Plus, the person who took my order never claim to reach out to me about situation with the order or left a voice message. Oof!

Given I was there much longer than need be, I asked for the apple, which was not ready, and being prepared so I had to wait another 8-10 minutes. When I got to my car, there was barely any pie and more maple syrup filling half of the plastic container for $6.99, excluding tax. I'm pretty sure the food is good here but the time it took to resolve the order didn't sit well with me and likely will not be patronizing this...

I purchased food to go from here on last Saturday. I made it all the way home only to find the taco I ordered, soaking in grease. I called back and spoke with a manger. I explained I could not return to the restaurant to get a refund because I had made it all the way home and could not return. I told her I threw the food away because it was greasy, but I come there often and I would get my refund when I return. I went there today, to place an order and get my refund. I was told by a manager on duty he could not refund the money because he did not know if I had actually eaten the food or threw it away. I showed him a picture of my food and explained ed to him I could not eat something so disgusting and I would not come here to get a $3 refund for something I had eaten. It was not about the money, but the principle. How could a manager argue with not just a customer, but a loyal customer about a $3 taco. I will never...

I truly enjoyed my lunch at Miami‘s Mexican!

We were greeted with friendly smiles and pleasant voices at 11 AM. Even though the restaurant was just opening, the dining room filled with customers within 15 minutes. Takeout and pickup orders kept the phones ringing, and now I see why!

The food is great!

The nachos were fresh and delicious. All the ingredients came together well. The portion size was enough for two people. It was priced appropriately.

The lunch fajitas… Omg, watch the video. I wish I had smell-o-vision. Deeeelicious and very generous for a lunch serving. Lunch prices are a steal.

Now, dessert! Yum! Sopapillas remind me of Beignets, without the piled on powdered sugar. Each bite was better than the next. I love the cinnamon and honey dizzle. I didn’t need the chocolate on the side. 😂
