I’m giving this place 3 stars based solely on the Tiki Bar—it was fantastic. The bartender there was knowledgeable, clearly passionate about his craft, and made excellent drinks for both my wife and me. It was the highlight of our visit.
Afterward, we wandered around and noticed the place was pretty empty, likely just a typical weeknight. We stopped by the main bar, where the atmosphere felt completely different. Not a single greeting from the bartender, who seemed indifferent to our presence. It felt unwelcoming, almost like we were intruding.
We ended up sitting along the side bar area, enjoying our drinks, but there was zero engagement from any staff. They walked back and forth from what seemed to be smoke breaks without acknowledging us.
I finished my rum drink and decided to try one of their beers—a stout—but was told it wasn’t available. The bartender had no idea why or when it would be back. With such a small selection to begin with, running out seemed strange and disappointing.
The vibe overall felt off—like a private club or a hangout spot for a select group of regulars. When I finally spoke with the owner about the beer, he casually mentioned it might be available the following week—while eating pizza mid-conversation, which felt a bit unprofessional.
In the end, the whole place gave off a "friends only" atmosphere. If you're not part of the inner circle, it’s easy to feel out of place. Great drinks at the Tiki Bar, but the rest of the experience left a lot...
Read moreTripadvisor rates this place as an attraction in Zanesville? Really? According to the few photos, and really the only brewpub in Zanesville, we had planned to eat there while our stay in Zanesville. Gosh, a totally shabby place, a curt/disinterested bartender, and to top it all off, they serve a warm IPA! Needless to say, we closed out and left to look for another place for dinner. The place is nasty, kinda like someone's garage. Outside? A few dirty tables, any "ambience" drowned out by a compressor. Always plan to visit the brewery/pub in the cities/towns that we visit, I guess I tend to review the "memorable" ones. This was definitely one.
Response to Owner. Ignoring commenting on the rude bartender (I would’ve loved to share the details, now we are wondering if it was you), the outside conditions and blaming everything on “personal preference” on warm beer? Seriously? So, you have a cooler go down, and don’t even think about freezing your glasses to at least give some aspect of normalcy? I do feel genuinely sorry for Zanesville if this is the level of their only microbrew/pub. Very disappointed, at least I feel better now not spending more than $6. Travelers, do not make this a planned...
Read more8/14 UPDATE to my review on 7/31: after communicating with Jay, the owner, he offered a full refund from our experience and mailed a check to us. In this day and age, this type of customer service and care is unheard of. It speaks volumes to me how seriously he takes his business and his customers having a good experience. If I am ever in the area again, I would 100% give them another chance.

We went to this establishment for dinner with our four kids last night. There were no tables available and someone was kind to open up a new section for us to sit in. Very kind of him but he definitely used Windex to “disinfect” the table. We waited a very very long time for our food, which was difficult with kids and we felt a little ignored. The pizza was not good, and they actually didn’t even put sauce on a couple of the pizzas — and they argued this with us and said it was there it was just “under the cheese.” The bottom of the pizza was burnt and the cheese was not melted well on top.
For spending $80 on dinner I would have expected so much more. Very...
