Putnam Hill Park — Attraction in Zanesville

I love this little park, it's situated in a great location and despite it's relatively small footprint has much to offer. These amenities include: (but are not limited to) superbly maintained grounds, a function and picnic area featuring a beautiful and spacious gazebo with built-in benches and barbeque grills, large picnic tables with roofs to provide protection from the elements, a small but purpose fulfilling basketball court, a fitness trail that loops quickly through an adjacent wooded area and continues around the parks' periphery, and the piece de resistánce; a viewing platform on the edge of a sharp defile that manages to display an astonishing amount of engagingly picturesque Zanesville Ohio (including a pair of the city's many fantastic bridges). Like a bright gem in a recessed setting, Putnam Landing Park shines while tucked away, out of view while paradoxically providing the best view around, and enhancing Zanesville as a whole thanks to it's efficient, comfortably intuitive design. This park has a gazibo, a very long slide, an eating area, a basketball court, and a spectacular view of the famous y-bridge of zanesville and the mighty muskingum river. If you like pokemon go...this park has 2 stops and one gym. It also has a huge open area to play in or throw an atlatl, or play you h football in. With all this being said. This is how parks should be in the city...it also has a nice driving area if you do not wish to...

My favorite hang-out in all of Zanesville. There is a play ground cor the kiddos, you can look out over the entire city and practically see partway up Maple Avenue. There are shelter houses and a basketball court. There is shade trees and a slide that stretches the full length of the hill. In the fall you will find Buckeyes falling from the tree right next to the winding drive at the entrance to the park....
