Cafe "Bek" — Restaurant in Tashkent

I had a terrible experience here and highly encourage tourists to avoid this eatery. Being a solo traveler from Dubai and having no understanding of Uzbek or Russian, I was offered a menu I couldn't read.After much deliberation a English speaking waitress got me a menu with photos and offered to help me order! A huge mistake! She suggested 3 items, a lamb dish, salad and bread and ensured the quantities were small and it's appropriate for one person.When the food arrived I was shocked as the lamb dish itself could serve 4 people and the salad was also a platter not a plate for perhaps 6pax.I could barely eat 10% of the food served to me and when I tried to discuss this with the lady she just pretended to have forgotten English and behaved as if I was fussing for no reason..I paid for it and clearly they probably had the rest of the feast!!! This was utterly demotivating experience and clearly the restaurant was trying to make 💰! The currency is low so, I didn't care but I totally warn every tourist to be careful or avoid this place...

I decided to visit this café and deeply regretted it. I had a business meeting here with a client, and I was extremely embarrassed by the behavior of the staff. They were very rude and tactless. Despite our repeated requests to lower the volume of the music, they ignored us. It was evident that many customers were dissatisfied with the loud music, which was very irritating. In the end, I decided to leave, and we went to another place. If you read my comment, my advice is to change the management staff and remove the music altogether, as it not only disturbs the customers but also the residents...

My colleague and I dined at BEK Cafe twice in two days, and it was a fantastic experience overall. I absolutely loved the eggplant salad with sour sauce—it was a highlight of the meal. The kebabs were really delicious, and the salads and dolma also impressed with their flavors.

The only downside was the steak from the chef, which was way below expectations. I’d recommend removing it from the menu, as it could significantly improve the overall dining experience.
