The place itself isn't ugly and it has a nice courtyard open to the sky. I found it interesting that the staff wear microphones and earpieces, presumably to communicate orders.
I had the "tsar-style" meat. If that is what was served to Tsars, I am not surprised that Nicholas did not want to rule the Russian empire! It was nothing but a few chunks of meat and a few slices of baked potato. It was probably the least interesting meal I have had in Tashkent.
The tea was also supposed to have thyme in it, but it just had a variety of other green leaves.
I was told that I could not order the armenian food as it was "special order". But maybe I didn't understand what they were saying. No one seemed to speak any English, and my Russian is terrible.
Luckily, there is an English menu.

I recently dined at Vlad's and had a fantastic experience. The food was exceptional, with each dish bursting with flavor. The service was equally impressive—attentive and friendly without being intrusive.
One highlight was the vodka; it was so good that I found myself wanting more! My only suggestion would be to add heaters for the outdoor seating, as it can get a bit chilly in the evening.

local Armenian cuisine frequent by locals service by waitress is not the greatest restaurant serves smoked BBQ pork ribs (it's quite decent but a bit on the salty side - paired with bread will be a good match to neutralise the salt) avoid the beef broth as its just soup taken from beef stock (not the greatest - rather watery) the homemade fries was the surprise winner, it's quite a good comfort food
