Still Confused with Its Strategy

(Had dinner on April 16, 2024)

While waiting at departure hall, my father saw something that interesting, Burger King. My father really want to know how Burger King looked like in Vietnam. Yeah, Burger King also has branch at departure hall, but it doesn't listed on Google Maps.

Probably due to the failure to adapt with local preference, the menu largely cater to foreign tourist. Including the burger size. Ironically, this is the main reason why Burger King managed to survive at Vietnam. Seems like this strategy has work well for Burger King.

Double BBQ Bacon Cheese (7/10) As I said earlier, the burger size is very huge. Larger than average burger size in Indonesia. Since this kind of burger also available at Indonesia (albeit with slightly different name), I was expected it would had taste similar. Turns out the sauce and the patty much blander than its Indonesian counterpart. In the end, my father added more ketchup to add more flavor. It's really odd. For a fast food chain that aimed toward foreigners, the flavor wouldn't be heavily adjusted to locals.

I chose to eat at Buger King because of the veggie burger option on the menu. As a vegetarian, it is not always easy finding suitable options when traveling so this was a pleasant surprise. The food was okay, what you would expect from a Burger King. But I will add that everything was remarkably fresh. The main reason for this review is to comment on the wonderful service of the manager on duty, MINH! As I waited for my meal I watched Minh pleasantly attend to her work throughout the restaurant. I observed her serving customers as well as helping behind the grill and at the fryer. Her attitude was warm and inviting the entire time. She was not only friendly to the customers but also to her fellow employees. She created an atmosphere that was cohesive and welcoming. If I worked there, I would be happy to work for Minh. She deserves recognition for her positive attitude! Lastly, they were playing great music! All Madonna hits! Horrendous customer service and rip-off prices!

Menu/price list is located inside, not outside. Prices are in USD, with the conversion to Vietnamese dong is higher than the actual rate - as of today, they use 23,500đ, while in the market it's 23,448đ). NO questions asked about the meals - they put in XL meals without asking. Added items without asking! Double crispy chicken burger in a meal charged at USD17 (originally put in as King Box meal for USD21.5). Ordered a standard whopper, they put it in as double whopper + double bacon + double cheese (USD12.85). Tendercrisp burger charged at USD6.7. Added items that I did not order - extra cheese for USD1.20. Always check your receipt! Complain when you see things that are not part of your order. Bought 2 burgers on its own & 1 burger with meal (still charged Large, even though I complained and said I wanted just the small one), totalling USD38 (~AUD 55). Check your items before you left the store, they missed giving out the sundae (part...
