As a lifelong cat lover, visiting this cat cafe felt like a dream come true. The atmosphere was beautiful, the drinks were delicious, and the cleanliness was impressive, considering there were 20+ cats roaming around. I also appreciated the variety of breeds present, such as Scottish Folds and Persians, which you don’t often see in similar establishments.
However, my visit left me conflicted. While the cafe has potential to be a haven for cat enthusiasts, I feel it falls short in prioritizing the cats’ well-being.
In the hour I spent there, it became clear that not all visitors understand how to interact with cats, especially children. Unfortunately, this cafe is a popular spot for families with young kids, many of whom seemed unaware of how to properly handle or respect the animals. I witnessed distressing behavior, such as a young boy choking a cat, pulling tails, and chasing them, as well as adults shaking and irritating sleeping cats for their own amusement.
Cats are not like dogs; they value peace and boundaries, and many simply want to nap undisturbed. While the staff were present, there didn’t seem to be enough oversight or guidance for visitors. Children under 10, in particular, should be supervised more closely and educated on proper cat interaction. Simple rules, like not disturbing sleeping cats or respecting body language cues, would make a world of difference.
It also struck me that the cats were not up for adoption, meaning they live in this environment permanently. While the concept of a cat cafe is wonderful, the reality of these animals being subjected to constant handling by the general public, much like a zoo, raises ethical questions. Many of the cats seemed irritated or stressed, and some were visibly sick, which is concerning in such a crowded environment.
As someone who adores cats, I wanted to give this place five stars for its concept, interior, and charm. However, until the cafe takes stronger measures to protect the cats through better visitor education, stricter rules, and closer supervision…I can’t rate it higher than 3 stars.
This cafe has incredible potential, but it needs to shift its focus from being a fun attraction for people to a safe, RESPECTFUL environment for the cats who...
Read moreThis place is quite a nice cat cafe. The staff are nice. You order your food and drinks on the first floor and you can take the food and drinks upstairs where the cats are. Personally I feel that there is a potential for this place to be the best cat cafe in Danang, but they would need to improve a few things. I hate it when kids run around creating chaos. Parents do not know how to teach their kids to respect the cats. Cats are very independent and if they do not like it, they will walk away. Do not keep chasing the cats or keep touching the cats. Parents need to educate their children to respect and give these cats some personal space. If they want to approach you, let the cats approach on their own. When I was there I saw Vietnamese parents who just left the kids there to play with the cats and the kids were constantly harassing cats who clearly needed some space. I think the staff need to be wary of the kids who are constantly harassing the cats and ask them to leave if they continue to act like that. Do not be afraid of these parents who would threaten or scold you. I saw a Korean kid who was patient with the cats and offered the cats some churu. I think that is the right behaviour. Overall, I think this is a nice experience for me, I would have spent more time here if I could. Recommended if you are a...
