S Coffee Roastery — Restaurant in Da Lat City

Brilliant coffee, expertly extracted. The flavor was spectacular. It was truly one of the best single origin light roast Ethiopian Gujis I've ever had. I always get a bit of oat milk on the side, just to cut the acidity, but never before drinking the coffee black as intended for a bit and the barista rightfully recommended against it. He knows his stuff. And they have locally grown and roasted regional coffee too. It's so good, everyone.

Two stars though. I know, I'm in Vietnam. I'm lucky to be here, I'm lucky to have these sorts of experiences, and I cannot judge but this is a review.

Their cafe is a fumidor. It's a smoking lounge. Say what you will about how well coffee and cigarettes go together, but you shouldn't be allowed to smoke indoors. It's putrid inside. The smoking was awful. I can't imagine what cafes would have been like in the 50s where this was commonplace. This place needs a covered outdoor area for smoking because they've ruined an otherwise world class cafe with this smoking indoors policy. Unfortunately for S Coffee Roastery, Sipply is still the gold standard for best coffee shop in Vietnam. I will never be back to S Coffee again (not that I live in Da Lat, but I do love it here and would recommend everyone to visit the town). Avoid.

2 stars for a marvelous cup. The cup should speak for itself but I'm so utterly offended that this place would defile the sanctity of a gorgeous cup with the accommodations of the tobacco vice that I couldn't possibly go any higher.

I would have turned heel and run away before buying any coffee had I just not walked kilometers from the hostel in pouring rain and through red/yellow milky puddles to try this place.

My fav place in Dalat for Specialty coffee and overall vibes and service. I think we’ve been to this place 10 times or more during our stay in Dalat.
