Trắng Đen Craft Beer Đà Lạt — Restaurant in Da Lat City

So, I came here for the beer. Here's my assessment:

White beer-  spiced Belgian-style wit beer with some off flavors. Spices not balanced with the hops or the yeast esters.    It was hard to finish the glass, but I wanted to try the dark beer.  It needed some orang peel or some other fruit to counter the uneven spices.

Black beer-  overly bitter black lager with insufficient crystal malt to overcome the bite.  Poorly hopped and overly bitter from the roasted barley.  Nice moutfeel, but clearly not balanced with other malts.  It has an almost sour taste to it, making me question the cleanliness of the brewing process.  I really couldn't finish it.  It just was not good beer.

These beers could never be marketed outside the brewpub.  There are simply too many off flavors to enjoy. I always try to drink local, but I would have enjoyed my meal more if I had ordered bottled or canned beer from a larger brewery

Rum:  free sample given.  Nice on the nose.  Appropriate ABV.  Very slightly oaked.  Still a little sweet, but home brewer quality.   Very similar to what I make at home on a very inexpensive still.

Wagyu steak was delicious.  Tender and cooked medium rare.  Garlic and butter were perfect additions.   French fries were just right. We also ordered a green salad vinaigrette with avocado, onions and cucumbers.   Very nice salad.  The food was excellent and was the great redeeming value of the pub.  The food was great, but the beer was not.

All in all we paid about $43 USD (VND 1 100 000) for two beers, one coke, one wagyu steak and a large salad. I'll let you judge the value...

If you‘ re in Dalat and want a decent dinner, this is the Place. Excellent seafood dishes and much more are waiting to experienced. Fine wines and craft beer (they run a brewery in the basement) come with french chansons of the eighties, which creates a slightly melancholic atmosphere. Great team. The food surprised me! I/My family ordered some spaghettis: carbonara, tomato w/ seafood, and one more that I'd forgotten the name of. My first impression as I sat down was the sanitation being a bit concerning but it was only at the slightest as there was a fly that was hovering around the area. However, the food and the friendly service made up for it well! There's only one waitress, but he is super optimistic and easy and very honest. The ice cream was chewy and flavorful and so very enjoyable even with only two flavor options. A surprisingly very pelasant experience! Especially because the majority of the products used were mostly homemade!!
