Wander Station & D'myna Restaurant — Restaurant in Hạ Long City

After moving to Ha Long from Canada to teach English, I soon discovered this amazing gem of a place. I went to many different restaurants during my 3 month stay in Ha Long and none compared to the Wander Station. As a vegetarian I found it incredibly difficult to find food around this city, but I was always accommodated here and the food was always amazing. So much so that I came nearly every day, sometimes even twice a day! Linda and her husband, as well as the entire staff are so quick to welcome you with genuine warmth and friendliness. From helping me plan my weekend trips to watching late night movies with me in the restaurant, there was no shortage of love and kindness from everyone here. They made me feel right at home in this foreign country and Linda quickly became one of my best friends with her bubbly and sweet personality. Very clean bathrooms, clean venue and nice outside space at the front to wait. The opening times on Google were incorrect, thankfully we only waited about 20mins for them to open.

The seating is on split levels so we went to find a staff member to order food, we ordered two pasta dishes and two diet cokes. We never received the diet cokes. We were the only ones there with very loud dance music on upstairs. This is not a complaint, but we struggled to order as we don't speak Vietnamese, our server didn't speak English and Google translate seemed to be causing confusion.

Thought this was gonna be good because of the amazing reviews. But honestly, was terribly disappointed. Wife and I had sweet and sour chicken and bbq pork ribs and both were terrible. The pork ribs were basically just pure fat and there was barely any meat on the whole rib, was disgusting to look at all the fat.

The spicy and sour chicken was honestly one of the really bad chicken items I’ve ever tasted.

The waitress was friendly and asked why my wife hadn’t yet eaten her chicken. We honestly felt there was no point in telling her how bad it was and just wanted to leave.
