This was perhaps one of my favourite, if not favourite meals I had in Ho Chi Minh! I ordered the Cang Cua Bach Hoa, and especially loved the crab claws and crab cakes. The crab soup was extremely flavourful, had a great depth of concentrated crab flavour & created almost a fiesta in my mouth! The tapioca noodles were chewy and so delightful to bite into. Not sure why there weren’t pork meat slices in the soup though (even though it was stated in the menu)! Nonetheless an incredibly delicious bowl of Banh Canh Cua. I also really appreciated that they had an English menu (alongside Vietnamese ones!).
The servers were very helpful and attentive:) As the shop occupies an entire multi-story shophouse, I found their practice of ringing a bell from the second story (to call/alert the servers on the ground level for orders etc) very interesting!
I highly recommend visiting when in HCM, and i’ll...
Read moreMany staff girls are idling (3 at least maybe 4 or more) on their phone while the place stays completely under filth (floors). Tables are not clean. I tried to clean it myself with a tissue and they didn't have the idea to help me. The crab is obviously not fresh. Avoid it. The fried bread is disgusting. It tastes very old oil and they charge it as extra. The orange juice was small. The ice cubes tastes bad. Tap water I would say. Avoid. The meat cakes are good tho and the broth is okay. I don't like those big noodle shape. Too expensive for this quality. I won't pay more than 40k for a soup like this and even that... I would prefer to go elsewhere. The staff was really clumsy when it was time to pay. The girl was doing multiple things at the same time while some were not doing anything. She left and came back 2 times....
Read moreIt's Banh Canh noodle shop. This visit was the second time for me. Actually I didn't remember how they were. Then I thought I found the very popular one on Google, but I also found that I already marked as "Visited" Lol. So I thought I should try again to confirm how they are. Anyway, it was really crouded. I think they renovated the shop, because I normally don't visit clean shop Lol. It's now clean, and they have several kinds of banh canh. I ordered first one on the menu. Noodle, soup and toppings were good. I felt the the serving were a bit small, but still acceptable. The price is a bit high. I don't say it the best cup in town, but it's good enough. Their service was also very good. It's nice...
