When first arriving, you’ll notice a lot of empty seats for a good reason. There are displays of fresh seafood but they’re overcooked to the point they’re rubbery. The crab was good though.
The staff all look unhappy. Management needs to find out who is allowing their staff members to feel okay to be unhappy at work. There’s a ton of staff standing around but when you make eye contact, they look like they’re running away to another staff member to chat. Management needs to keep staff members away from each other because they keep chatting together. Staff here is slow to do anything. Getting a canned drink will take 10-15 minutes. The only hard working person here is one of the girls at the front desk. 3 out of 4 girls at the staff desk were just playing around chatting with one another while one is working hard multitasking. When I asked one of them to help me write something in Vietnamese because I’m still learning, they threw the task at the girl that was multi tasking. The food here is probably terrible because staff here do not care about their job. The owners need to find out why the managers are doing a bad job managing their staff. Multiple times, I would see staff members try to avoid eye contact like they don’t want to be helpful at all. I lived in Vietnam for 17 months and I visit restaurants every day. This place has the worst staff with the least amount of care. Staff is so bad that the majority of my review is about them being lazy...
Read moreAffordable and fresh food, very good service! Will come back!! The huge place got crowded at 6 pm and was full house before 7 pm, and some people were pushy. They restock quite fast.
Must-eats: Salmon sashimi, big head prawns Skippable: Mantou (fried bun), fried rice
The salmon sashimi is very fresh and fatty, as good as those in premium restaurants. It comes with fish with a pickled vegetable thing which is interesting. The wasabi is extremely spicy, definitely a tear-jerker.
I would say the big head prawn is the best thing here. They are extremely fresh. We could not stop eating it, especially with this sweet chilli sauce!
We had 5 crabs which are sweet, except one. The crab don't have roe.
The cheese baked oysters are filled with clam chowder (quite sweet). I wish it was not so sweet, but still good!
The mud creeper (or "chut chut" LOL) is cooked in standard coconut gravy which I loved.
The mantou is not crispy and not well steamed through.
The watermelon and longan are sweet, the cakes and dessert are okay.
The staff would clear our used plates. Each table had a big bin to throw the shells and tissues. There...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Poseidon Buffet and I must say it was the worst seafood buffet I’ve ever been to. Not only was the food subpar, but the check in staff’s attitude was shockingly rude and unprofessional especially the white/light pink short hair girl who sat at the front. In additional when we came at 5pm, there were TONS of TABLES but one of the waiters kept insisting that we must share a table with other guests - how absurd!
To start, the seafood was far from fresh. Many of the dishes were either overcooked or had a strange, unpleasant odor, making it clear that quality and freshness were not priorities. The selection was limited, and several trays remained empty for long periods, despite numerous requests for replenishment.
Overall, Poseidon was a huge disappointment. The combination of low-quality food and disrespectful staff made for a truly unpleasant dining experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone and will definitely not...
