Trung Nguyên Legend Coffee — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

I’m not usually a fan of franchise coffee shops, but I have to admit Trung Nguyên Legend delivers on quality and consistency. The coffee here is rich, bold, and smooth, noticeably better than most local spots. But that quality comes at a price expect to pay 20-30k VND more than your typical street-side cà phê sữa đá.

That said, you’re paying for more than just the coffee. The atmosphere is clean, calm, and relaxing, a nice escape from the usual noise and chaos of Saigon. It’s a good spot to sit back, get some work done, or just enjoy a well-brewed cup of coffee in peace.

I’ve been to many Trung Nguyên coffee, and my favorite one is still the Trương Định, District 1 branch. Today, I stopped by this location since it was on the way, but the experience wasn’t great. The café was playing sad love song covers on repeat, and the same melody kept looping over and over.

One of the male baristas was even singing along—very loudly and for quite a while. On top of that, there were constant loud noises from dropping items and noisy preparation at the bar.

We had an Cafe Americano for me and an Ice-cream for my daughter. To order was a bit tricky as the girl could not speak English and she couldn’t offer anything else than chocolate ice cream. Or maybe they hadn’t another choice, I don’t know. The order took a while to be served , even the shop was almost empty. The coffee was good and strong ( remember it I ordered Americano).
