I don't have anything new to add to other reviews but we had a lovely evening here, a really wonderful time and if you want a really local experience you should come. In a future life when I live in Huế this place will be on my food tours, as much for the experience as for the food.
It's a bit of an adventure to get to: over a narrow bridge to the island and then down a narrow lane. I wouldn't come in your own car, you'll scratch both sides on the way here and won't have anywhere to park. We walked over and took a Grab back, that worked well.
The ladies here don't speak any English but you will get by fine with smiles and hand gestures: they are lovely and will look after you.
The place is famous for its "hến": baby clams. We had the cơm hến (rice), bún hến (noodles) and hến xào (fried), all were delicious.
From the reviews it looks like a fair number of tourists come here, but it's still very much a local spot. On a busy night we were the only tourists, and aside from us it seemed like mostly...

One of the ladies there was kind enough to show us how to eat the Com Hen and she even mixed it nicely for us. Its a favourite with locals since there were many empty bowls all around us. The com hen was inexpensive too at 15K VND so it was clearly meant for locals. We were the only tourists at the time but we felt very much welcomed.
Although com hen wasn’t my particular bowl of rice, I am glad I expanded my culinary horizons like my idol Anthony Bourdain and I would recommend this place...
Read moreThank you all very much. I was at this rental today - I really liked it! There are different colors of bikes to choose from. You can rent a bike for 3 days and then extend it for a month, paying only for the month, without paying for the first three days. You can also bring your bike and exchange it for a fully charged one. They gave two raincoats, two nice helmets and a charger - everything is new! A month costs 1.85 million, which is cheaper than in other places where I inquired about Vinfast. A license is really not needed for all their bikes, since they have a speed limit...
