Huge disappointment, I really can‘t understand all the positive reviews. Yes, the place is nice, situated in an old, nice decorated house, has a beautiful garden and is located in a calm lane. But for me, that’s already all positive things I can say about the restaurant. The food lacks completely in flavor. I ordered the often recommend pomelo salad and was so disappointed, no flavor at all, not spicy, not tangy, just a boring, way to sweet salad. I also had the deep fried tofu with chili and lemongrass. The tofu was chewy and soft, definitely not deep fried, the sauce was way to sweet as well and super oily/greasy, absolutely nothing special. The service was very poor as well. Went there for late lunch, besides me, there were two other tables. The order arrived after an acceptable time, the waiter, an elderly man, spoke quite good English and showed up a few times. But when I finished, nothing..., seemed as all the employees disappeared somewhere. Only one waiter was left, sitting at the table behind me, playing with his mobile phone. That guy obviously spoke no English at all and, although he took notice several times, that I was looking around in order to get the bill, he completely ignored me and rather looked into his mobile again to watch some stupid YouTube videos. Don‘t know, I personally would never go there again and can’t recommend the location at all. But maybe I went the wrong day or at the wrong time, as the other reviews are...
Read moreAn absolute pleasure to dine here. It was so good, we came back several more times for dinner and breakfast.
The outdoor garden seating area where lush and green with birds and butterflies flying and fluttering about during the day, whereas the indoor dining area had a calm, wood decor that gives this place as much life as the trees they grow outside. I believe the owners are avid followers of Buddhism, more specifically Thich Nhat Hanh, so their beliefs are displayed by the shrines and books displayed for their customers to see.
I thoroughly enjoyed every single dish I ordered from this place. (I will not name them all, you can find some pictures in my review) They are all very flavorful and despite being vegetarian, the cooks really know how to imbue their dishes with strong robust tastes that will satisfy even the most...
Read moreThe location is a bit out of the way although nice to be away from the main road of traffic in small alleyway. The building and interior is rather austere with no one when I arrived early at 5+ pm, so I chose to sit outside where there were some mosquitoes but I was fine with it.
The service was alright, inconsistent attention was given.
I ordered the pomelo salad which did not come in a pomelo as pictured but it was still tasty and refreshing. A tad on the pricey side at 65,000VND. Next I had the taro balls coated with green crispy rice (35,000VND) which is really good! This I recommend if you want to try something different from what might be available in other restaurants. The crispy texture on the outside contrast with the soft texture of the taro inside is exquisite....
