Cafe Thu — Restaurant in Lào Cai

Great people helping you out getting your motorbike on the train. They will rinse it first with some water, drain the fuel (required by Vietnam regulations) and talk to the employees of the train/station to make sure the bike will get on the train. You will get the keys back after the washing/fuel draining and you will receive a ticket for the motorbike. The train ticket you can buy yourself or also ask them to do it. I believe this Cafe Thu is a little booth that sells drinks right by the entrance to Lao Cai train station (facing the entrance steps on the left). The lady inside the booth asked to see my train tickets and when I asked for luggage storage, said 50,000 dong. It was to store our 4 items (luggage and 3 bulky backpacks) for 1 hour. We came back and paid her in cash and went on our way for our noon...

Nice vibe in this family run simple resto/café near the train station. The pho soup is not what I expected tho. The broth didn't feel like it was made with beef bones. Their cafe suda is really good tho. The family dog is cute and protective of the place for other wildings roaming around. We had a good time here while waiting...
