Vietemotion Lào Cai — Restaurant in Lào Cai

Visited this restaurant for dinner as it was a 5 minute walk from the train station. The menu was your typical vietnamese/chinese/western fushion. We ordered a salad, tomato soup, seafood fried rice and honey chicken with rice set. Seafood fried rice was nicely seasoned and tasted the best out of all the dishes. The honey chicken was served on a hot plate, white rice on a separate plate with stir fried cabbage. The chicken tasted okay but it seemed a bit too oily towards the end. The salad had a good balance of greens and shredded cheese. Tomato soup tasted sweet unlike the savoury ones I am used to but some might fancy it.

The restaurant owner was nice to let tourists sit in their restaurant for some time after finishing dinner as the train schedules are usually after 9pm. There is wifi and WC in the...

We were sat, and given menus. Waited 10 minutes before seeing a staff member who took the order of the table next to us. She did not come back to take ours. 2 more groups were sat, both had their order taken in about 5 minutes of being sat. We sat still without being able to place an order. After waiting another 15 minutes and trying to get staff attention we were finally able to get an order in.

Food was mediocre. Chicken and veggies were cooked well, rice was sticky and fluffy. But the seasoning was severely lacking. It was almost flavorless.

Won't recommend. But there's not much food options that are open here on Sunday evening.

Image attached has ants inside. Not hygienic. The vegetable was full of ants. Eat at your own risk.

Fried toufu w tomato sauce was abit too salty. Toufu was abit sour.

Shrimp hotplate sauce was quite fragrant, acceptable and decent. The ingredients inside were alright, though the shrimp wasn't that great. Vegetables on the hotplate was okay.

Rice was pretty good tho.

Drink was okay.

However do note it's pricey. 2mains 2drinks cost us nearing 400,000 vnd.
