Bánh Mì Giòn — Restaurant in Ninh Bình

WOW! 😳🤯😱🥹 We went here unknowingly we were about to have the best food experience on our travels in Vietnam so far!!! 🇻🇳The place was crowded with teenagers in school uniforms and that from the get-go was a signal of the great quality of this place.

First of all, the prices are incredibly cheap and affordable. Best priced banh mi’s I yet have had.

Secondly, everything we ordered both came out LOOKING and TASTING like heaven. The thick peppery sauce they serve you on the side is divine (I have to figure out the name of it!)

You can choose to get your banh mi as the normal closed sandwich, called Kep, or a “dip your in the bowl with topping and stuff” - chao style! We tried both the vegetarian platter, banh mi chao AND kep - and everything tasted great.

Furthermore, it seems like a family run establishment and the spirit and customer service was great. Kind and down to earth. Pretty quick too.

This seems like a true Vietnamese food pearl. A place uncorrupted by greed or popularity, still offering incredibly reasonable prices, catering to both school students and tourists alike, offering impeccable service, displaying grit, kindness and...

Ok I wanna tell you guys a heart warming story I had with this cute place.

Me and my German friend traveled to Ninh Binh for our summer break so you know the weather was brutal, it was really sunny and dry. My German friend, who was not used to the sun in Vietnam, went outside without any coats or hats on (to protect the head from direct sun) and had a serious heatstroke. At the time we got to this place, he broke down and could not move anymore, I asked the owners if he could lay down and then the lovely husband brought us a bed, the wife made us hot ginger water. I was really thankful and then continued looking after my friend. We stayed there for about 3 hours until he could stood up and walk normally.

We tried to give them a tip but they didnt want to receive it 🥹 I felt bad but I’m also really grateful that I met them. So here I am writing this review hoping anyone that reads this will pay this place a visit. It will be worth it.

Long story short: prepare yourself for the heat during summer. We love this place, each of us order 3 banh mis at least haha. And I will definitely come back if I get a chance to be in...

Located in an alley, so look for signs for “Banh Mi Gion”. Loved the fact we could go banh mi sandwich and bo ne “sizzling platter” in the same location. And they have a vegetarian “bo ne” platter which my husband enjoyed! While the bo ne wasnt sizzling when it came out, the food was still delicious and bread super fresh. Liked that they had plenty of space for indoor dining.

I left a belonging at the restaurant and only realized it 10 minutes after leaving. As i was walking back to the restaurant and was a few blocks away, I see the staff who took my order on his scooter looking for me to return my things! Not only was the fresh bread and food solid, but these I appreciate the kindness of the staff who work there....
