I’ve been in the hospitality industry for almost 20 years. I always go in with an open mind and pretty straight forward. If they’re busy I don’t hold it against them. However tonight in Vung Tau and this establishment, it was a bit concerning. Vietnam has been an exceptional place for customer service. I came in with some friends, one was my buddy from Las Vegas. We proceeded to order and the staff was nice. When it was time to review the order, my other friend who is Vietnamese and lives in Saigon went over the order. I remember distinctly 1/2 an order of the steam chicken. We ordered the chicken wings with fish sauce. 2/5, there wasn’t much flavor to it. Stir fried noodles with beef and vegetables 2.5/5. Same thing you can get from any street vendor. Garlic pawns 4/5 those were tasty. The food was coming out pretty fast. We were waiting on the 1/2 chicken. What came out was a full clay pot with a whole chicken. We tried to explain it was 1/2. Ended up getting a story about how he would have to pay for it because of his mistake. Me personally I wanted to dispute it especially when the order was reread and confirmed with us. I understand Vietnamese but I don’t speak it well. My friends decided to pay for it but to me it was scam. It wasn’t about the money but principle. Trust me when I saw there are so many good places on Vung Tau. I found out that don’t go by just google reviews where tourists will base it on their taste buds and not how food should really taste. If you do go, just pay attention to your bill and also, the steam (boiled) chicken was okay unless you drench it in sauce. Will not be coming back and...
Read moreAbove average atmosphere, but highly overrated. The food was mediocre. My biggest concern about dining here was the fact that the service staff tried to overcharge us. They added an item to our bill that we did not order. So if you are a tourist and you decide to dine here be very careful about checking your bill. I feel like I may have been singled out because they did not expect me to understand the bill. Also, I got the impression that the manager or owner is in on the scam. They tried to give us the sob story that the staff member who made the mistake was going to have to pay for it. They tried to make us feel sorry for him. In order to save face we reluctantly payed for the extra food and took it for take away. Vung Tau has so many great culinary offerings, this place is NOT...
Read moreThese days, many Korean customers are flocking to Chauduc. The prices are cheap and it is closer than Vung Tau. Paradise Golf Course, which used to be a bully, seems to be paying attention to lawn maintenance as customers have not been visiting them lately, but the prices are expensive and if they continue to manage the golf course as customers have left, customers will not come back. I wonder if they know that if they lower the prices, it is too expensive compared to the condition...
