Indaba Cafe has been a "must-go" for a long part of my life, but I'm afraid it didn't live up to the expectations I had. To start off the sitting area to eat is lovely, the book are feels like if I pull back one book I would land up in Narnia, the rest of the store is also very homely and is on-theme with the Ndebele/Southern African culture dominant in the region. As for the food I ordered a chicken mayo which tasted good but I felt like they could have added for chicken to the sandwich considering it was $4.I thoroughly enjoyed the Kombucha and I recommend you try it when you go. Now for the negatives:the bathroom door did not close, which made for an uncomfortable experience when in the water closet. Also, the serivce could improve slightly, the waitresses seemed concerned with other things than serving which made the experience slightly awkward. That being said,I would recommend investing cautiously .

This is a really great spot and the staff are absolutely amazing! You are greeted with a smile, they are very well-spoken, and they are super helpful. The atmosphere is that of a relaxed family-run, European village restaurant - I like it! The background music volume is perfectly low, not disruptive, and is modern, pop music. Having visited a couple of times, I have noticed that mushroom and avocado availability seem to be an issue, which limits what I am willing to order but is not a train smash. The food portions are fair, but if you have a huge appetite, you may be disappointed. The cappucino is EXCELLENT!! Now, as for you there, sitting in the last 2 seater by the window - you're in my spot! 🤨 UPDATE: They also offer 90minutes free Wi-Fi, which really helps if you want to get some work done while having your coffee! Top stuff!

Right. Hi Guys. The results are in!! *cue drumroll* Meal: Bacon and Egg Toastee with plain fries + strawberry milkshake Main Meal: 7/10 Side (Fries): 5/10 Environment: 8/10 (potential 10 of you just get to the book section earlier, something I didn't do) Service: 9/10 Value for $: 4/10 Verdict: 6.6/10 The Scout: Try out their cakes and maybe chicken strips. This is the perfect work while you chew place in the cbd... Big plus if you're into books AND the artwork on display is for sale so while the 6.6 Verdict is harsh given my experience today, Indaba cam easily get an 8 or 9 out of 10 in my books. What's your experience?

looking at this place from outside, seeing the serene environment, calmness and neatness of the inside, one would think you will leave the place with broke pockets, but its quite affordable. Their prices is set in rtgs, yes you can pay in usd, it has a lenient rate, its neither a loss or gain using either currency to pay. I had the best milkshake ever, it was properly made, with actual chocolate/cocoa taste, frothy and a large glass for just $3, $1200 rtgs, the breakfast plate was fulfilling. its a nice place to have your coffee or hot drink and read a book. It is so quiet, very neat. it is a lovely place. Friendly stuff. i wish it opened even on sunday and longer hours, i would spend my weekend in there. its a very nice place to have a date. most expensive plate is $10, a steak with a number of items accompanying the steak, seemed worth it....
