Great Wall — Restaurant in Harare

Visited this Chinese restaurant that now opens in the afternoon, a significant change from my last visit many years ago. The waiting staff, consistent from before, provided excellent service. Tipping in USD is always a challenging due to a shortage of loose change, but I suppose it's situational. Overall, the experience was good, with the typical oiliness expected in Chinese meals. A group of 8 of us Went to the great wall for a birthday lunch. Prices were pretty good as were the portion sizes and all of the dishes we tried were enjoyed by all. We ordered fish in a chilli black bean sauce, chicken with cashew nuts, beef and black beans and crispy duck with pancakes, 1 egg fried rice, 1 veg noodles and 1 plain boiled rice. More than enough when shared between the 8 of us. One of the best Chinese restaurants in the city. The best indicator of that is the number of Chinese guests in it. It definitely tells you of the food quality. As for the service - all the floor personnel are locals so you cannot blame the owner (if only for failure to discipline them). P.S. I have known the Restaurant and the owner for a decade now.
