A fantastic and very atmospheric place! There is paid parking next to the lake. The entrance to the park is free. Large and Green Oasis: The Grand Park is one of the largest green spaces in Tirana, offering a peaceful escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. It spans 230 hectares, featuring lush greenery, walking paths, and plenty of open spaces. Artificial Lake: The park is home to an artificial lake, which was created in the 1950s as part of a project to combat flooding. It has become a focal point for leisure activities like boating and fishing. Historical Significance: The park has been a part of Tirana’s history for centuries. It was developed during the communist era, and parts of it have been transformed over time to offer a modern recreational space. Biodiversity: The park is home to a variety of local flora and fauna, making it an excellent spot for nature lovers. Many species of birds, including migratory ones, can be spotted in the area. Cultural Center: The park is also home to cultural landmarks such as the Tirana Zoo, which is a popular spot for families and children to learn about local wildlife. Great for Recreation: The park offers numerous recreational opportunities. People can enjoy walking, jogging, cycling, or relaxing by the lake. It’s a great spot for picnics, and during summer evenings, it’s a gathering place for locals. Tirana’s Green Initiative: In recent years, there has been a push to improve and expand the park as part of Tirana’s broader green city initiative. The aim is to make Tirana more environmentally friendly and sustainable. Close to City Center: The Grand Park is just a short distance from Tirana’s city center, making it easily accessible to both locals and tourists. It’s a popular spot for those seeking a break from the urban environment.

The Grand Park and its surrounding areas offer a blend of nature, history, and recreation, making it one of the most beloved green...

Great Park of Tirana is a very peaceful place to spend some hours or even the whole day. If offers many things such as a long path you can walk or jog/run and other pathways you can cycle. There are paths which are large and a good group of people can walk onto, but there are also narrow pathways through the woods if you'd prefer to explore nature. Very close to the entrances, you can find several bars and/or restaurants, and about 3-5 other bars/restaurants through the woods where you can have a drink/ meal quite peacefully and not very expensive. All 3 entrances do have wheelchair access. Inside the park you will the be able to find a small church, a place where kids can play safely. There are also basketball fields, one football field and many other spaces you can play. There is also an mini amphitheater recently reconstructed, which is a great place to have fun on summer nights. There are also 2 small areas with some basic equipments for exercise, accessible from everyone for free. There is also a small library which has its own timetables, but it offers a great atmosphere to read in front if the lake. The lake has ducks and fish, so kids can be entertained by watching them. There are also a school, a gym and a faculty in that area. It is a perfect place for groups,...
