Aqueduct Ain Zeboudja — Attraction in Hydra

Well, the aqueduct itself is beautiful. A piece of ancient Algerian patrimony and a glimpse into the past and how the now 'classy' neighborhood of Val d'Hydra used to look like. Unfortunately, and the reason why I gave the location two stars, is the fact that the place is pretty much abandoned. There are no signs or any kind of information about the aqueduct anywhere, and underneath and around the structure are just loads of expensive condo buildings. It's sad to see a bit of history slowly getting erased like this and I hope those responsible...

تشكل قناة واد حيدرة جزءا من القناة الكبيرة لعين الزبوجة التي شيدت سنة 1619 من طرف الباشا شريف خوجة . يعتبر هذا المعلم أخر الشواهد المادية لوجود قنوات توزيع المياه في الفترة العثمانية بمدينة الجزائر، يقدر طول هذا الجزء المتبقي من القناة بـ 80 م و ارتفاع 12 م و هو موجود في ملكية خاصة متمثلة في إقامة شعباني.

تأخذ المياه من منبع يسمى "منبع شجرة الزيتون البري" المتواجدة في ضواحي دالي براهيم التي تمول مدينة القصبة بالمياه.
