This park is at the same time very relaxing and absolutely bone chilling terrifying. Relaxing because it is a great place where to take a leisurely stroll, take in the views of the Rio de la Plata river, have a picnic on the expansive grass lawns. Terrifying because it is also a monument to the memory of the over 30.000 people fallen during the 7 years of Argentina's dictatorship and state terrorism. You can find seemingly endless walls with the names of those who perished written on them (a similar concept to the wall at the Vietnam memorial in Washington DC, USA) and a series of monuments and statues to remember this awful period in Argentina's recent history. Unfortunately there is very little explanation of what you are seeing, but you can find some info on the artwork and most is very suggestive anyway.
