The place is very beautiful and the service was amazing I’ll give them that but, the prices are ridiculously high this was the most expensive meal I’ve had in Argentina by far! And I’m here for more then a month so it says a lot. And look I don’t mind paying a lot of money if the food is amazing and in this place it just wasn’t the case. Yes the food looked beautiful, yes I saw some creativity in the dishes but the food was very very sweet and lacking in depth of flavors. The meat was claimed to be dry aged and maybe it was but as someone who had more then my fair share of dry aged meat and meat in general it didn’t feel dry aged nor did it taste like it. The T-bone I had was tough which indicates to me that it wasn’t aged long enough. To me as a chef my self, serving meat like this clamming it’s dry aged, it’s just not right. Again this was the most expensive meal I had in Argentina about 30,000 pesos for two people and we ate in the best restaurants and parrillas in Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, El Chalten, Bariloche which all but maybe one were better meat quality then this restaurant and we didn’t reach this sum of money at the end of the meal. All in all it’s a very nice place to sit in and maybe drinking wine but other than that I wouldn’t...
Read moreCame here because it was one of very few bodegas open on a Sunday - but we were very pleased. Had a private tour of the winery and three glasses of wine (there is a standard range for $400 and a premium for $700- we got one of each so we could try everything). You also get an extra wine that you tap yourself from their vat.. Which we thought was awesome. Our guide Julietta was fantastic - spoke immaculate English and was very knowledgeable. We asked loads of questions and she was very happy to answer in detail and is clearly quite passionate. She also took a load of pictures for us. We tasted some delicious olive oils and balsamic vinegars at the end which were outstanding. We also tried a couple of gins. Overall, great experience and great price. We did reserve for lunch and their restaurant does not disappoint. 3 courses with paired wines for $1800 - was delicious and good value. Great service...
Read moreWe went to Los Toneles spontaneously without a reservation but we were welcomed very warmly. We were taken around the winery and learned a lot about the history of this place, the very modern approach the owners are taking of promoting their wine and how they turned a very old place into modern times without loosing its oldschool touch. We loved this place, it also has a great venue for having a big celebration of any kind, the girl who showed us around was very nice and her English was really good. As far as we can tell, this is the best winery we have visited during our stay and we wish we could have also tried their lunch or dinner. A really cool winery that gives Innovative and modern names to their wine and hs cool artists making this place special. We...
