Our stay was alright. The front desk staff are all super nice, and the maintenance crew is great. Our television menu was moving slowly and some channels weren't coming in. So they left a message for the IT people to do whatever the next day by noon, since it was late. When we returned the next afternoon it was still bad. So about 10 minutes after talking to the girl at the front desk, 3 maintenance guys rang our doorbell with a brand new television set in tow. However, while I did get all of the channels to actually display. Most of the time everything in the menu still ran horribly slow. If you Google slow televisions and hotels, you can read more about this common problem. It's definitely a problem with the hotels. Also when I was at the front desk, I mentioned that the cold water handle for the sink was leaking. It actually got fixed by someone else while the television was being installed. Definitely prompt and excellent service by everyone involved that afternoon. BUT, the room was in need of an epic dusting. The back of the old television had so much lint and dust on it, you could pass it off for white cotton candy. Same with the cold air return above the A/C, and the vents for the bathroom. The glass shelves in there hadn't been dusted in quite some time, and the phone between the beds, I could probably write my name on. I've never seen a hotel room so bad like that. Even going back to being a kid. Now here's an odd one, our toilet filled with hot water! I've never had this happen in my entire life! My wife thought I was joking, until she checked it for herself. Is it a bad fill valve, or was it hooked up wrong? Goofy! I will still say, though, that the place is comfortable and inviting. We'd probably stay here again, provided that the epic lint and dust issue isn't so bad.

Visited 2/1/22 to 2/5/22 My wife and I stayed here to attend a concert at T-Mobile. Really nice place. Too bad it wasn’t built with balconies but still pretty nice. Awesome casino, a little bigger than the ones in my area back home. Had a pretty good run of luck on the slots each night. We entertained ourselves for two or three hours, lost a little and walked away with a few extra dollars. We got snowed in with an unusual snowstorm of about 8 inches or more of snow which shut down the town. Kansas City has a great road crew by the way as far as clearing the roads quickly. We had to stay an extra couple of days until the roads got cleared. This place has a couple of restaurants built into the building almost like an indoor campus. Going from the elevators through the main vestibule into the restaurant and casino areas highly resembled walking around the mall lol. Pretty good food and beer at the 99 Hops House. However, they were unable to open the last two days we were there because of the snowstorm. This was an unusual record snowfall so every restaurant we called was closed. Finally found a pizza place that was open. The poor pizza delivery guy had to brave the weather just so we could eat, God bless him… and we tipped him well. Anyhow , the whole property was a fun experience and I sometimes enjoy an unexpected adventure 😁. Clean room, nice tv, big clean comfy bed. Bathroom was decent sized and clean with a huge marble shower with a marble seat at the back, big glass door and a secondary overhead rainshower head also (blub blub lol). I wasn’t expecting that. The room is well ventilated and had nice halls and elevators too. My favorite feature I think was the nice big luggage carts 😁 so we only had to make one trip to and from the car. 👍 Would definitely stay here again.

So, this was the first time we have stayed at Argosy. We normally stay at another venue. We booked a room for saturday 8-17. Very disappointed! So first and foremost. $12 amenity fee. This is for mini water bottles, wifi, $5 credit for food but you have to charge your meal to the room when you go to a restaurant, free local calls. Like really? I paid $219 for a king bed room and then I have to pay for telephone, water that comes out of the faucet and wifi? The room was decent except…….I went to shower this am and I had hot, oh yeah, only hot water. I never could get cold water to come out of the shower. I messed with it and so did my husband. I was dizzy by the time I got done and my skin was red. The top head coming out of the ceiling of shower splatters water so much that the floor outside the shower was puddled. The shampoo bottles were nasty. The lock on them was not locked. There was something on the floor of the shower also. The sink stopper was so low that toothpaste wouldn’t go down. Now on to the room. I went to make coffee (in my $219 room) and there were no cups, 1 regular coffee, 1 decaf pack. The sugar, creamer and stirrer pack was opened and the stirrer was taken out of one. So no coffee. They give you the 2 bottles of water that are basically a cup, sure they give you more but that means a trip downstairs. So now I have to watch my card as the deposit came off but I have a charge that the desk clerk said was a refund. I know the difference between the two. We asked the clerk at checkin we wanted the quietest room when she asked if he had a preference. She said our spot would be quiet. Well there was a family with 3-4 kids 1 door down that we could hear. I get families and kids but this was for a couple weekend and it is a casino. I don’t get having kids stay. It isn’t like it is a location close to family experiences. We won’t be back to stay at these prices and service. The restaurants lack. We ate at 99 hop house but we had to wait for workers to stop chatting to get seated. Our waitress was decent but was rushing to get home and she said she would have someone check on us but they never did. We had to ask her to get more beers when she had already gotten us a ticket and not asking if we wanted anything else. Oh and don’t even think about the drinks on the floor. Holy moly! $6 for a 6 oz cup with large ice, nasty Coke that tasted flat and couldn’t taste the rum or jack daniels. Very, very disappointed! I wish we would have gone down and stayed downtown instead. Oh and I don’t know what was on the ceiling. While I appreciate the response in this economy I will not be coming back. This should not have happened and as I see on reviews, this isn’t just my poor experience. Why would I take a chance and spend another $200?

Unfortunately this experience was less than bare minimum. Upon entry, we were placed in a room that had a strong odor of stagnant water and weed. The bathroom was unclean as well.I went back to the front desk, explaining the situation and asked for a different room. I was told nothing could (would) be done other than spraying aerosol into the room and that there were no other rooms available. A comment to me was also made of the room being booked on a third party site. Once I asked to discuss this with the on duty manager, a room "just happened" to be available. The replacement room smelled clean and dry. As the evening went on, I noticed that the bed frame was torn apart, leaving exposed staples because one punctured my pants and butt cheek when I sat on the edge of the bed to change my shoes. On top of this, we found no fitted sheet was placed on our bed, just the protective quilted cover. The shower did not work properly, the faucet valve for hot water leaked all over the bathroom counter when used, and the television kept losing signal. You would think this would be all, but to top it off, the Spa was temporary closed and when we tried to use the room service feature, the front desk said that she was not performing any room service that night. I can honestly say that we've never experienced this poor of an experience in any hotel. The casino section was fine, but due to the hotel, I will not book a room, nor recommend a stay. The included pictures are of the damaged bed and missing fitted sheet. UPDATE: Due to the response/reply given below, I felt it appropriate to reach out to the establishment via the email address that was left. In 2 weeks time, I have not received any response back. I had previously noticed that with any complaint of other reviewers, the response was a "copy and paste." This leads me to strongly believe that the professionalism of this establishment mirrors the condition.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Upon check in these people claimed the 8th floor was non-smoking but after our 3rd of 7 nights they rented the adjacent room to smokers. I have C.O.P.D. (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and can not be around second hand smoke for any long periods of time. In fact I shouldn't be subjected to cigarette smoke at all. When we made our reservation we were also told at that time that the hotel was non-smoking. Our room started stinking more and more to the point that on the 4th night it was so bad that we couldn't sleep at all so we tried placing a towel at the bottom of the connecting door but that didn't stop it. I called down to the desk and the women said "The 8th floor is no-smoking. I then told her "Then you rented the next room to smokers". She asked me to hold and after several minutes she hung up. We waiting almost an hour for her to come up to the floor or at the very least call us back but NOTHING! So we packed up and at 3:30 AM we left. We were much better off spending the last day of our vacation at the airport then live with that stink. Also, we both stepped up close to the other rooms front door and not only were these people still awake but the smoke was coming out from under the door stinking up the hall way. You could smell the cigarette smoke all the way down the hall to the elevators. This was all bad enough but this was the first hotel we've ever stayed at that doesn't have locks/latches on their doors. Anyone with a pass key can just walk right in. They also think is a good idea to not have automatic door closers so all night long you can here the doors slamming closed. I sent them an email but they completely ignored it. Worst $1,100.00 bucks we've ever spent. There's plenty of really nice placed to stay that are truly "Smoke Free" so PLEASE stay away from this place.

My first time visit to the Argosy casino was as a tourist back in 2017. During this visit, I won a few games, made some new friends and really had a great time. My second visit was yesterday and it was the worst experience... My throat and nose are still burning from the amount of cigarette smoke inside of this casino. This casino is advertised as having smoke free areas. Let me make it clear- once you are in the main areas there are no smoke-free zones. This is due in part because of their poor ventilation and filtration systems. Even in the non-smoking area you will smell an overwhelming amount of cigarette smoke. The inside is dark, hazy and gloomy. People were walking around almost like zombies. Even wearing a mask and sticking to the non-smoking area was not working. People were smoking in the non-smoking area and workers were walking around completely oblivious. We played six different machines without any success. In addition, the volume controls were broken on many of the machines. Even when you cashed out your tickets (not from winning) noise rang out as if you won a heavy amount. I always pay attention to the guests around me to see if anyone is having a good time or receiving any good payouts. No one was winning. We stayed for an hour and left due to the overwhelming amount of cigarette smoke (in the non-smoking area). On our way out, we noticed other couples that arrived with us and they were leaving due to the same issue.
