We had such a fantastic time visiting Hugh Hamilton Vineyard. The views over the McLaren Vale vineyards were absolutely stunning, and the cellar door was beautifully set up, welcoming, modern, and full of character. Visited Hugh Hamilton 4 or 5 times 👍👌 The wine tasting was definitely the highlight of our visit. A big thank you to the lovely lady who guided us through the experience—she was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and had such a genuine passion for the wines and the history behind them. She made us feel comfortable from the start and explained each wine with warmth and clarity, making the tasting both fun and educational. Her hospitality truly elevated the whole experience. Every wine we tried was unique and full of personality, just like the Hamilton family story. We especially loved how creative and bold their wine names and labels are, it really reflects the spirit of the winery. Highly recommend a visit to Hugh Hamilton for anyone wanting an unforgettable tasting experience in a beautiful setting, with outstanding wines and wonderful staff. We’ll definitely be back 😊

We visited this Hugh Hamilton when we visited friends in Adelaide. Beautiful property with nice view. The history was great to learn The cellar door was originally the water tank & the office is underneath the cellar door. To learn the history from generations to generations and the black sheep were amazing! Kath was knowledgeable and provided wonderful service. We didn’t have the booking on the same day and Kath accommodates us to have to the table same day & straight after the phone call on a very busy day . The wines were fantastic! I loved the Ga- Lor -IA , the Shearer cut and Saperabi. My favorite is Saperavi. This the first time I tried and loved it. Our Adelaide friends joined the Black sheep Members. We definitely will come back when we have a chance to visit McClaren Vale.

We had the absolute pleasure of visiting Hugh Hamilton Wines and were guided through our tasting by the incredible Chrisna. Her knowledge was absolutely outstanding, she shared so much about the history of the vines, the wine, the winery itself, and the Hamilton family. It wasn’t just a tasting; it was a full storytelling experience that made us feel completely immersed in the place. The wines were fantastic, and we loved the thoughtful touch of a non-alcoholic drink between the red and white tastings, it was delicious and added a refreshing balance to the experience. From start to finish, it was exceptional. The setting is beautiful, the wines are superb, and Chrisna made it truly memorable. We can’t recommend Hugh Hamilton Wines enough. A must-visit in South Australia!

Had a beautiful tasting at Hugh Hamilton. Paid for 2 premium tastings at $35 per person which isn’t cheap by any tasting standards. Loved all the wines, the view & the young lad who served us, but it all fell down when we went to purchase 2 wines to negate the $70 tasting. Firstly we selected a $99 bottle & an $85 bottle of wine (the selection ranged from approx $75-$125 per bottle), only to be told the $85 bottle was for members only & not part of the deal… we had apparently been told this during our tasting (possible) but it was clearly skimmed over in favour of detailing the wine blends, history of the Hamilton family and having a laugh. After agreeing to add 15% to the price of the $85 bottle to make it a ‘non member’ price (now $98) we were then told only one $35 tasting would be taken off of the $200 purchase, not the full $70 for both tastings. It became embarrassing having to politely argue our point that there is no fine print anywhere advising of this, plus it’s not standard at any winery to only have one tasting removed, even for the premium range. What if we were a group of 3 or more? Would we still only get $35 taken off the group purchase? It’s also not like we selected two of the cheapest bottles on the menu. It left a bitter taste that continued to be discussed negatively as we visited other wineries, who all had cheaper premium tastings, took both tasting fees off any bottle purchases and without any...

I very much enjoyed my wine tasting experience at Hugh Hamilton Wines recently on Friday the 1st of September.

Once greeted by the very welcoming staff, I was seated and offered a wine tasting.

Angus who hosted me for my wine tasting was the ultimate professional Cellar Door host. His knowledge and delivery in the explanation of the wines was of such high level and standard that it was one of the best wine tasting experiences I have ever had in the world.

Working in the wine industry myself and travelling around Australia and the world, enjoying visiting wine regions, Hugh Hamilton Wines was a very enjoyable experience.

Absolutely loved the beautiful wines I was offered for my wine tastings guided by Angus. Being a white aromatic lover, I loved the Aroma Pagoda. But of course, also loved the reds.

What an amazing setting and also beautiful views that are offered from visiting this amazing property.

Thank you, Angus, for a very warm welcome and such an amazing experience, and to your fellow Cellar Door colleagues and huge thank you as well.

Please visit Hugh Hamilton Wines when visiting...
