Aggressive staff. Not recommended.
Today my wife and I took a sneaky arvo off work and decided to go for a swim at the outdoor 50m pool. We found an empty lane (4th lane) and started swimming slowly. After ~10 mins or so, squad teens started to arrive and put their bags down at the end of the lanes including the lane we were in. Reading between the lines I figured they wanted the lane. The next one over (5th lane) was free, we moved over out of curtesy. The youths sat on the bleachers and had a lesson or coaching session or something then started jumping into the lane we had moved into. As I was swimming, I found two girls swimming towards me and my wife.
The middle aged male coach, claiming to be the manager - later found to be the manger son - asked me to ‘get out - get out in a really aggressive way. I refused and asked why should I get out. He rudely said the lane is reserved for training. Didn’t I see the sign? I said there was no sign (genuinely, there wasn't any) and the guy become aggressive and abusive. He went from zero to 100 in seconds. He said the girls pay big money to be here, he hasn’t seen me here before, what are you doing here, get YOUR MONEY AND OUT! Etc. I asked him to show where the sign is and the guy angrily went into the office and pulled out a white boardi said lane reserved for squad 4-6pm weekdays and then put it at the end of the pool. IT WAS NOT OUT BEFORE THIS POINT.
I approached the office lady who irritably confirmed that guy is the manger and said that the lanes are ALWAYS reserved from 4 in the afternoon. She then asked who paid out of us and when I said we have fitness passport (there is a log to sign in using FP) she said oh good then I’ve got your names then.
This whole experience makes me feel so anxious that this happened in a council pool by a staff claiming to be the manager, and aggressive to the point that I thought at one point he was going to get physical.
And he did all of this in front of the teenager girls he was training.

Read moreOur family has been going here for my kids’ swimming lessons and while the pool facilities are great, some of the staff managing the reception can be inexperienced and rude. Both my husband and I have received attitude from them on various occasions, especially a grumpy asian lady with faded colour hair and a few other young ones. The food stall was also badly managed with the confusion of two spots for placing your order, one spot with raised platform supposedly for kids and most adults would use the other one. So I tried to get a drink from the stall last weekend and was apologetically told by one staff that she had a few orders to fulfil so would take a while. She did not get my order and went to quickly prepare other orders. Soon there was a bit of a queue behind me at the adult queue waiting for a long time for anyone to attend to us and a customer later went to stand on the platform meant for kids sneakily. Another staff actually attended to the sneaky customer without asking who came first. I told the staff that I came first and had waited for a much longer time than the customer but was basically brushed aside. The staff went about her own way to take the sneaky customer’s order despite me and the people behind me complaining! The customer behind me was so disgusted she walked away. Shame on the reception staff and the inconsiderate customer. I didn’t mind the long time I had to wait as they were busy but I do not appreciate the bad attitude consistently served to paying customers...
