The Historic Waterloo Bridge Memorial is under the under the bridge itself! The Bridge over Lake Burley Griffith the A23 is one of two Bridges to cross from the north to the south of Canberra! The Waterloo memorial lines directly with Parliament house and can be a great position for a photo or two... It also has a great view looking east towards the National Library, National Carillon, or to the west where the National Museum and Black Mountain Nature Reserve... The bridge is a hive of activity with walkers, runners & bike riding, and this time of year, the Canberra Balloon Spectacular over Lake Burley Griffith.

This is a great bridge. I have been over it countless times and it has never fallen. Walking paths flank the roads for pedestrians or bikes. The road is mostly smooth which is nice. The views are also pretty good at all times of day...
