I had lunch with my lovely wife. Always choose the museum for their fantastic food and great views of the lake! We chose the museum again for our Friday lunch and decided to sit outside, a little bit chilly outside but we were nice and rugged up so we could manage. We ordered some delicious cheese burger and my wife had the chill beans, with coffees to compliment. We had two mixed experiences, so I will start with the negative. The gentleman who bought us our drinks did not even address us or ask us how we were doing, simply placed the drinks on the table and walked away. We were delivered our food by a lovely young lady but didn’t grab her name unfortunately. Food and drinks were lovely as usual! We asked for some water from this lovely young lady and we began chatting about how cold it was starting to get with the winter creeping in. She was absolutely delightful and offered to get us some more sauces. From memory her name was Belle. Just an absolute delight and will definitely be looking out for her next time we are here!

Loved the quite and cozy environment and the extremely helpful staff, we asked about halal options and cross contamination and the chef himself came out and explained our options. Their burger and fries were absolutely amazing, you can tell that their fries are made from frozen sources and the chicken wasn't re-cooked. I wasn't expecting that kind of attention to detail from a cafe, while even the fancy burger joints neglect it. The smashed avo and eggs was very well made too. Great place for kids, as they have well spaced seating arrangement and are not blasting music. Maybe I am being a bit biased as I wasn't expecting that kind of finesse from a cafe tbh. As I thought most people only visit it because of the views' n 'vibe and being located next to the museum. I m glad I was wrong, a must visit spot for brunches.

29/9/22 A pleasant cafe environment within the National Museum of Australia, with friendly staff, a broad menu offering but truly atrocious coffee and a tasteless 'portuguese tart'. The staff couldn't be friendlier and very service focussed. A very buzzy place with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options - inside was at about 80% during our visit. Unfortunately my Doppio was almost undrinkable, as though the grounds had been used twice. My partner said the same about his double shot latte. Might as well have had a Nespresso! The Portuguese Tart was rubbery and tasted of nothing, we had expected pastry and custard flavours. I do expect (hope) given the reviews & prices, that whatever comes from the kitchen are a much better standard. PS: Shame they cannot spell cutlery...

Very understaff, and staff compromising on service to get through all the orders.

Joining a queue of people to be served, I intended on getting a meat pie and a bottle of coke. The pies are already hot in the warmer, and the coke obviously straight out of the fridge.

Stood in the line for just over 10 minutes to be served, despite being only a few people deep. Wanted to have the pie at a table? And so rather than putting the pie on a plate and giving it to me, the service rep refused and gave me a table number.

Sat at a table for approximately 18 minutes before someone brought the pie to me, on a plate.

I understand the staff are young and busy, but quality service means prioritising meals. People who order large meals in large groups understand their food will take longer. People who order ready to eat food should not have to wait until their ticket comes...
