Doug Jennings Park is located at the end of Seaworld Dr,Main Beach Qld 4217. A jewel in the crown Doug Jennings Park is located on the Gold Coast seaway & within easy walking distance to the beach & the Sand Bypass pumping jetty. Located at The Spit, this 30-hectare park offers ample space, flat grounds, plenty of shade & accessible hardstand parking for large & small vehicles. This is the perfect location for any major city event, such as festivals or markets. Wheelchair access parking is available within easy walking distance to all public amenities. Situated a short walk from The Spit, this is a wonderful place for large family gatherings. It is a great place to walk along the seawall area, which looks across to South Stradbroke Island. This is also an area where jet ski can be used on the Broadwater. The Seaway Kiosk, also located at the end of Seaworld Dr, is a large one level kiosk, perfect for morning brunch & particularly busy around lunchtime. Why not try fresh oysters for lunch 😋 Toilets and showers are available within a short walk from the Seaway Kiosk. Doug Jennings Park is located a short distance up the road from the Seaworld Resort, & at times this part of the Gold Coast can become very popular, marking the only one road in & out to the Gold Coast Highway a painful experience for anybody wanting to enter or leave. Be prepared when making your journey back home for delays in the traffic. All in all, it is a fantastic place to have a good day out for a picnic or BBQ.

Awesome park to have a picnic, bbq or family get together. Dog friendly with free poo poo bags in case you forget. Walk along the pier to the light house or go down to the dog off leash beach. Theres stairs down to the water to snorkel and dive. Lots of rocks to fish off. Theyve upgraded the car park which is a lot nicer. A little take away shop that you can sit in to eat or take away. Showers and toilets available. Great views of the broadwater, the spit, the ocean, marina and a view down the coast where you can see surfers paradise skylines. Great place for surfers and boogie boarders. Down the road from seaworld, tje trawlers and petes fish and chip shop where you can buy fresh seafood or have it cooked for you. This is such a great place for everyone to visit. Relax, walk, run, bike ride, canoe, surf, swim, snorkel, people watch, picnic, bbq and bring your dog. 10 out of 10.

I love coming down to the spit. Perfect place to go for a swim or walk on the beach. On the weekends you can rent surfboards, SUPS and kayaks from vendors around the area. There is also plenty of places to fish and snorkel. There is a small take away shop here as well although its fairly expensive. Beach showers and public toilets are also available. Plenty of off leash dog sections to take your pet. You can go to one side if you want to swim in the surf or the other is you prefer still water. There are large sections of open beach, as well as a few more secluded areas if you want some more privacy. Plenty of shade along the left side of the spit if you want somewhere to sit while you kids play in the water.

This is a great asset to the Gold Coast area. Lots of amenities including a great cafe/restaurant, a dog beach, public toilet enmities, good car parking facilities and great for a stroll along the paths taking in the views of South Stradbroke Island and the dolphins swimming in the seaway. A scuba/snorkelling access area is constructed in this area with wash down facilities. I observe lots of people fishing here also although they don't seem to catch the abundance of fish that are swimming beneath the surface. Watch the boats cruise in and out of the seaway while enjoying the park. Fantastic sights and when it gets too much just wander over to the cafe for a cool drink. I'm sure kids would like to explore the rocks around the water area but just be mindful that the water moves really quickly in the channel. Keep a really close eye on them if you are going to clamber...
