The beach here is always lovely to go to with our dog, Willow. We come here when we have a chance and Willow absolutely loves it. The entire beach is an off leash dog area, with plenty of space on a calm day. I recommend going on a weekday because it gets pretty busy on the weekends and on public holidays. There are poop bags provided near the toilets on your way down to the beach, which is handy if you've forgotten your own. The jetty is a lovely walk, but there is a small fee to walk it. There's also a small shop. I would not recommend swimming in the shallows as the dogs play there, but further out there are always some nice waves to catch if you're surfing. Occasionally we have spotted dolphins in the inlet on the other side of the lighthouse, too. 10/10. Great place to bring your doggo for a run and a swim. Good place for photos too.

I drive all the way from Brisbane to bring my dogs who absolutely love it. We have nothing like this in Brisbane. So many lovely dog owners who seem to have their Mutts under control. The waves are amazing and my dogs go absolutely bizerk running up and down and riding the waves. It’s truly beautiful and makes you realise how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful country. It’s worth spending time with your dogs as when they’re gone you will regret it. In fact it’s better to spend time with them than some people haha. Take the time and bring your pups down they will love it.

A beautiful and good place to bring your dog and kids for a run around!!! 😎🐕 But just like a dog park, there's still a lot of little dogs. Owners of smaller breeds need to be aware and just think about it before bringing them anywhere, especially here to run. Don5 expect all dogs to tolerate your smaller dogs, especially if they are spoilt and yap like they own the place. If you can't be 100% sure that you can look after your dog or save it in the most severe situation, don't risk it! Other than this, awesome place!!!!

Don't go if you don't have a dog. Dog lovers are more tolerant of dog poo squishing between their toes as you walk down the sand and the waft of a giant St Bernard crapping right in front of your towel. Also they don't mind the sound of mad people screaming hysterically at their out of control pooch as it tries to mount the smorgasbord of possible doggie mates or alternatively tear someone's Chihuahua to pieces in front of everyone. I suppose dog lovers need to go somewhere but this place is chaotic on a hot day and it's not just the dogs that get...
