We bought a cup of tea from the cafe on the ship and were given a cup and a teabag. My elderly dad finished his tea and was hoping for more hot water so I went to the counter to ask for a refill - mind you, I did NOT ask for another teabag...I asked for hot water, and hot water only. The woman at the counter rudely said if I had wanted more water then I should buy another cup of tea. I definitely didn't appreciate the fact that 1) the business was calculative and stingy over hot water (it's not like we paid peanuts for the tickets in the first place?) and 2) the woman was rude to a paying customer (even if she couldn't give me the additional water, she could have said it politely). I have since refused to take another trip with Sealink and have also advised my family and friends against using their service. Being a monopoly, Sealink gets away with too many things, including poor service. I hope that one day there will be competiors that will give this company a run...
Read moreHorrible service, our ferry was cancelled and we were encouraged to wait all day in the standby line and got nowhere! They also knew our ferry was broken 24 hours in advance but didn’t tell us till a few hours before. Then they put us on another ferry in the middle of the night and asked us to PAY EXTRA as it was a “more expensive boat”. We refused, and it was waived, but they acted like they were doing us a favour. We arrived home at 3am and back at work at 8am. This company has a monopoly with transport to KI, and when they have issues this leaves people stranded. When competitors try to open up Sealink drops their prices till the competition goes broke and as soon as they have the monopoly again hitch the prices. Should be illegal!!!! They also offer no accomodation compensation if they leave you stranded on the island.

Read moreBooking was easy and amenities on board were fine. Our whole experience was ruined though by the incredibly rude (older unshaven) guy directing cars onto the ferry. When I didn’t understand his directions and which way he wanted me to turn the wheel he got really angry. When he thought I had reversed without looking he got even angrier! Not one to be disrespected I told him Im not stupid and I have a rear view mirror AND a rear camera which is kind of common sense I would’ve thought. It would appear he might need to learn patience with people and look up the meaning behind ‘customer service’. Sadly this is the only company that goes across to KI so perhaps they think they can treat people how they like. Either way I wouldn’t want someone of his character working for my business. Next time we’ll fly!...
