While I believe the facilities are amazing and our race was full, I was expecting it to be cramped, but there was plenty of place to sit and shade and a bbq area. The ground crew were amazing, but it would certainly have been helpful to have been told that you can move both the peddles and seat to a more comfortable position. I believe my son was too far, which has caused him a lot of back bruising, as he was essentially "rolling" around in the seat.
SAFETY WARNING - I had quite a nasty accident, where I have hurt my neck and back. A week later, I am still struggling after being to the physio and will try the chiro too. The “medic” had absolutely no idea what she was doing, in fact I would be surprised if she even held a first aid certificate. I was not offered any form of medical assistance at all. I was obviously sore, in shock and my adrenaline was pumping. I had whiplash from the accident. When I got out, I felt that the helmet was too heavy for my head and I needed to take it off, which I did, and then I needed sugar, so I can only imagine my blood sugar had dropped. The medic offered me water, luckily I had a solo at hand myself. Had this person had any form of medical training, the mere fact I made a comment that I needed sugar, should have made her ask whether I was diabetic, but it didn't. She pointed out my shoulder was red, well yes, I had just had an accident and what she was seeing in fact needed attention, yet nothing was offered, no ice, no heat, absolutely nothing. She did fill out an incident report, which I don't think she had ever done before, as she had to come back a few times regarding it. I was actually quite angry that the one question was asked if I was happy with the medical treatment I had and she kind of pointed to the yes.....actually I should have been filling that form in and I should not have been influenced by anyone. She asked if I wanted a follow up call and I said yes, as it would give me the chance to voice my concerns on the lack of knowledge and treatment offered. I was told that you are closed on Monday & Tuesdays, but someone would call on Tuesday....wondered how that would work,....well a week later I am still waiting.
Unfortunately the crash was unavoidable, as there was no warning, so there was no orange light flashing, so I can only assume the person who I hit must have just spun out themselves. It was at a very unfortunate hair pin bend and there was absolutely no warning and absolute nothing I could do to avoid the collision.
While I didn't have an issue with the pit crew, it would appear from other responses, other people have, what I did have a problem with was the lack of customer service! Right at the start of the day, I was not sure how the day would run and was trying to determine whether to bbq then or later. I did ask and I said I know we have to meet at the fastlane at 1:15, how long will that take, as I expected to be briefed during that time about everything, the staff member had no idea and couldn't help me. I did say I also had an ice cream cake and one staff said it was best to have it after the racing was finished. That particular staff who had no idea was at the Fastlane serving our group! All she needed to say was it won't take long, all you are doing is getting your membership cards, your arm bands and gloves and balaclava if purchased....it wasn't a complicated question, with a very easy answer! We had our bbq and went straight into the races...
When we finished the races, and bearing in mind I had also just had an accident and all I wanted to do was go home, we requested the ice cream cake and they said sure no problem. We waited for 20 minutes for the ice cream cake and asked 2 different people to assist us. They were in no way busy. They had two staff at the front there, it wasn't like they didn't know about the cake.
All in all great facilities, customer service certainly needs to be stepped up and if you are going to be running a high risk activity, at least have someone who knows what...

It's upsetting to have to leave a review like this but I seriously believe something needs to change within the management at Kingston Park Raceway to ensure the safety of everyone who participates and prevent serious harm or anymore deaths at their venue. Last night I partipated in their Saturday night races events and coming onto the straight at the end of race 2 I rode a defensive line to secure my third position at the chequered flag. After the race had ended I got purposely T boned at full speed into turn 1 by a disgruntled older man that then proceeded to swerve into me and run me off the track again in the out lap on the way to the pits. It was clear this was not a racing incident and rather a dangerous driver performing intentional collisions with the intent to hurt or worse. Coming from a racing background and organisation of such events, I know when it's time to remove someone that is angry and a danger to others and at first this was the mutual decision of the staff and myself. A wise and responsible choice it would have been but after a few pleases from him he was then later allowed to jump back into a kart. Dangerous, reckless and driving with the intent to harm someone should be something with a zero tolerance at events like this, or any event.
I'm not angry with anyone or even the person who has left me with whiplash today, I am more disappointed with the lack of guidelines and candour the staff take towards the safety of the people who they cater for. This could have been much worse, and they allowed the potential for it to have. I worry for the families who come or the children they bring if there are people on the field who knowingly by the staff have a temperament and are still behind the wheel that in a moment could get angry enough to want and will hurt you or your child.
So Kingston Park raceway, I hope you take the safety and the lives of your patrons in more care for the future and make Karting as safe as it can be.
Allowing things like this to continue without proper intervention will eventually result in another life lost at your venue.

UPDATE 8/7/2024
After leaving my original review with hopes they could improve on things, regarding my recent time spent at Kingston Park Raceway's venue and the lack of consideration and action towards the safety they held. It was decent to see the response they gave and their want for a better experience, in their words "we hope to earn back your trust and provide a more enjoyable experience in the future" (see photo 6) incase Kingston Park raceway chooses to redact their response in the future.
By this response, I decided to attend one last time on Saturday just gone to hopefully see that they had made a positive move forward for the safety at these events. After paying and registering however, I was approached by a worker that then proceeded to say because of my review, head office has ruled that I am refused the right to their venue and was told to leave. I was insistently denied a refund at the event on the night and in the end had to request a formal written notice by the staff member stating the refusal and my payment will be later organised (see photos 3-and photo copy 4). This was the worst path a buisness could have chose to go down, not only did the employee seem disinterested in the actual safety issues raised of the event, failed to act appropriately at the time and in the direction by Kingston Park raceway, now "by consumer laws" proceed with a less than legal use of refusal based on a discrimination towards groups of people who share their experiences openly. It now seems definitive where they stand on this.
Kingston Park raceway This was a chance to show you've improved on your efforts towards the safety of everyone, instead you doubled down backwards and showed that your more interested in appearance and excluding anyone for speaking freely or sharing their experiences with Kingston Park raceway. In your eyes- ( photo 5 for...
Read moreAbsolutely no words to describe how appauled I am at the organisation from Kingston Park. What a joke. We booked a party for there and I thought the value was great until the day. We arrived half hour early as told, children ages 5-9 had a parent (over the age of 18) to ride with them, as this was confirmed TWICE that this age group needed an adult to ride. Only to be told, after being sent from line to line and made wait AGAIN in each line after being told to go to the next line. Girls had their hair tied up in a bun WITH a hairnet on and yet the money ploy to still say we need a hoodie and if we don't have one we can BUY them from there. After all the waits in the lines and parents being sent to register and line up again, we get told on the VERY SMALL OVAL track that if children are 7 or over they can ride by themselves. And then also being told they only have 4 dual seated karts on that VERY SMALL OVAL track so all the kids couldn't go together anyway and had to wait even more. After a parent asked why they only had 4 dual seat karts the guys operating the ride was rude and also said there were 5 groups in that age group booked in for that track today, but yet only 4 dual seat karts. After all the kids and parents were sorted and they got to ride on the VERY SMALL OVAL track for 3 minutes, we went back to start the bbqs for lunch, only to find out that you have to also PAY for the bbqs. After getting some change we started both hotplates but only one defided to get hot enough. $22 later we managed to cook 2 trays of sausages and some chicken thighs. After already spending over $600 there you still get hit with paying for a bbq. One boy is 10 on Saturday, he was given the correct arm band and pointed in the direction of the track for 10 year olds, lined up for 20mins, only to be told by the person at that track, no sorry you can't go here as you are not 10 yet. A 4 year old wanted to go on some rides and the extra was paid, $10 for the slide and jumping castle only, 1 other ride she was able to go on was the Gee Whiz but to have that added to the wristband would have cost $25. Was a very disappointing day after all the kids were so excited. The slogan 'a hell of a day out' is pretty well suited if you ask me. I will definately be telling everyone I know about how disgusting the whole day was run and as a parent, will not be recommending this to anyone. I will also be telling everyone that is even thinking about taking their kids there to think again. You should be ashamed Kingston Park Raceway. Something that could be so awesome for kids and you make it impossible to enjoy. You seriously need to have a long hard think about the organisation there and do something about it. How hard is it to register a child and the adult at the same time instead of sending them back and fourth and making them wait for so long. If you ever get your organsation up to scratch them maybe I will consider deleting...
