ODE TO LONGREACH We came to the outback not knowing what to expect, Longreach you surprised us in every respect. They said the dust will get you if you don’t watch out, So we closed down our hatches & booked without doubt. The characters amuse us in this lovely old town, Scotty with no shoes recites poetry that will astound. Kinnon Brothers Jeremy & Lane ad-lib with glee, They drive boats, ride horses & tame animals you see. The brothers know how to draw in the crowds, Just by being themselves, all jokes are allowed. We have ridden a stagecoach like the old pioneers did, Gorging on scones & Billy tea to save us a quid. The town oozes charm & attractions to delight, Make sure you spend time here & stay more than a night. Longreach thank you so much for welcoming the vanners, Other small towns should take note & not be downers. The town has created so many wonderful memories, We will cherish them greatly & share them immensely. And thanks to your townsfolk for sharing a tip, Our fellow travellers will now put your town on their trip. By J-Lo

A truly unforgettable Outback experience! 🌅🐎 We absolutely loved every moment with Outback Pioneers – it’s not just a tour, it’s a journey into the heart of the Australian bush. From the Cobb & Co Stagecoach ride that made us feel like we’d stepped back in time, to the Billy can lunch and Tent Show that had us laughing and learning – every detail was thoughtful and immersive. The sunset cruise on the paddle steamer was magical – the colours of the sky, the gentle river, the warm storytelling... it all came together perfectly. Dinner by the campfire with damper, Billy tea, and bush poetry felt like sitting under the stars with old mates. The team are passionate, warm, and genuinely care about sharing this part of Australia. We stayed at The Coach Inn, and it was super comfortable – perfect for couples. This isn’t just tourism – it’s storytelling, history, and heart. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a deeper connection with the true Aussie spirit. We’ll definitely be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Alex and Mike From Perth

We participated in the sunset Thomson River cruise and camp oven dinner and movie under the stars. The cruise was pleasant, the camp oven stew was a tasty gravy with vegetables and small occasional chunks of tender meat, followed by bakery purchased apple pie and custard. The movie was a cleverly constructed transition of artworks and cast members with a narration of the derringdo of the infamous cattle rustler Henry Readford (Captain Starlight fictional character was based on several of his exploits). Our main disappointment was during the prime sunset time we were corralled around a tv in a tent to watch a very long - 37 minutes - documentary of the relocation and subsequent sinking of the proposed barge to upgrade the numbers of tourists able to participate in the river cruise. We enjoyed the bush poetry recitations - although the poet was very inconvenienced with a personal health issue and mentioned it multiple times during her performance.

I would like to congratulate the Kinnon family on one of the most pleasurable experiences my husband and I have ever been on. Now that’s what I call good old fashioned country hospitality.

We had the most fantastic time on the Unleashed Outback Pioneers experience. The 6-day tour was nothing short of spectacular. Starting with the wonderful Cobb and Co experience, followed by the most delicious scones and tea you’ll ever have, the starlight cruise followed by an amazing stockman’s dinner under the stars - just beautiful and what a delicious meal was that. At the end of the night damper and tea. Next day Nogo Station watching the sheep being rounded up by the sheep dogs and then to the shearing shed. Lots of action happening there. Off to a beautiful tranquil spot where we enjoyed lovely individually packed lunches lovingly prepared. In the next few days we visited the QANTAS Founders museum, Winton Age of the Dinosaur. We stopped for a quick cuppa for morning tea with the largest and most beautiful Anzac biscuits I have ever tasted. Then off to the Stockmans Hall of Fame with a wonderful show, and the Waltzing Matilda Centre.

Their endless stories, experiences, the history and insight to living on the land past and present was fascinating to listen to.

The family’s dedication, commitment, generosity, organization and outstanding passion for this tour is immeasurable. If you are planning to experience the outback this is definitely the way to do it. The home cooked meals are totally amazing. Good old fashioned meals with wholesome goodness.

When you visit Outback Pioneers you'll be sharing a real outback experience with genuine outback people who live and breathe the region's past, present and future.

I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. Richard, this is a credit to you and your family, Marisse, Jeremy and Lane who are all at the forefront of the business.

I will certainly be telling all of my family and friends about this wonderful experience. This is an experience we will never forget and that is thanks to your beautiful family. Well done. Thank you from the bottom...

Ended up at the booking office to seek direction to accommodation, not realising the accommodation is under new management as we made our booking in January and hadn't looked at it since (nor was this explained by the booking office, we discovered this fact ourselves after the encounter)....The staff member did help, however the help was vague and we were spoken to as if we were stupid. Not a great first impression of Longreach and it doesn't make us want to rush to book any tours with you. Was a disappointing reception for our first visit to your town. It would've been a great opportunity for your staff member to sell your town and the tours you offer. Hopefully they were just having a bad day.

Thank you for your reply below. We had booked directly through you so must have inadvertently missed the notification. It was more the manner in which we were spoken to that was our issue for which you've apologised and that is appreciated. We did ultimately go on to enjoy our Longreach stay and should we be visiting again in the future we will have a look at what experiences you have on offer. I have given you an extra star now as you took the time to reply and obviously do care about...
