We waited almost 90 minutes for our food, tables around us also said they had waited 90 minutes if not longer. One table waited over 60 minutes to be told their order was lost. There were only 6 parties dining (plus a larger party of 25 pax) yet they had no ice, 2 bottles of white wine, no bottles of red wine. The owners went to buy more red after several complaints from diners. Steaks were ordered medium rare, attached photo shows it was uncooked/inedible in the middle they were also luke warm. All vegetables with the meals were cold. Lamb shank was dry, cold, coated in pepper and inedible, vegetables cold, no mint in the minted peas. We were warned there were new owners and that it wasn’t the best place in Longreach anymore and it’s definitely not. Don’t waste your time or money. We were charged for 3 bottles of wine when we had 2 glasses. It took 3 goes to get the bill right.

I had an amazing time in Longreach, but Harry's was one of the biggest surprises. Sitting beside the Longreach Inn I was flabbergasted at how good the meal was for a tiny outback town. The first night we had the lamb shoulder and pork belly and they were both perfectly cooked so on the second night I took a chance on a steak and again it was cooked perfectly. I knew we were in for something good when the garlic bread entree was perfect, but we were so pleased that every course was exactly what we wanted all the way to dessert. The apple crumble special was just as enjoyable as the berry dessert. Looking forward to my next visit.

arrived early only 2 others in. ordered the pumpkin soup and an eye fillet "medium" cooked. the pumpkin soup wasn't seasoned it was so thick i could have used it as a mortar. passed that aside was looking forward to the fillet steak. well how disappointed can one be? very by the way the huge steak knife cut into the well done steak. the carrots came with a large amount of the part you pull them out the ground with, not sure what the crisps were. i would not recommend eating here. i paid $66 for tue two meals and couldn't finish either. will not return here on my travels. the meals looked great unfortunately thats where it ended.

Definitely the owners fault but this place does not live up to its fine dining statement. The staff need proper training. I thought about mentioning my dissatisfaction but with no floor manager present I new my constructive comments would not have been passed along... oops...

So. Here's the review... The food was brought out like they didn't want us there. There was no break in between courses to the point that the waitress brought out our mains and hadn't yet cleared our entrees. Expecting me to lift up my entree plates while she placed our mains down would be ok at a corner store. Ordering was also an unnecessary drag. There was a note of attitude and I didn't understand why the 5 floor staff needed to continuously chat at the bar instead of bringing out the drinks I'd ordered. I like to start dining with a coffee. That never came. I had to explain what with dry meant. Just to mention a few disappointing things. It was great that young locals were being hired but I hope the owner sees this and employs a manager that actually knows how to lead to take what could've been the best restaurant in town and could be one of the best in Qld to its potential.

The 2 stars is for the food which was...

Went to Harry's on a Monday night with my sister who was visiting from Brisbane. Our order was taken quite promptly and drinks and entrees arrived reasonably quickly. However we waited so long for our main meals that we were thinking we had been forgotten, and just as we were on the point of finding someone to ask about the order status, the food was finally (hastily) delivered, with the wait staff not enquiring if we needed further drinks etc and leaving abruptly (before we could ask) .Our table was then ignored for so long that we finally gave up and paid our bill at the counter. My sister enquired of the very pleasant Irish guy who was not assigned to our table, the procedure for ordering further drinks and dessert, only for him to apologise and say they were very busy. With approximately a third of the tables occupied, we wondered how the staff would cope with a full house. A disappointing experience for my sister's...
