I am appalled to say I ate here today. I was told by locals to come here and for good grub! Steaks chips and salad with mushroom sauce I would expect what I was paying for. Salad was a hand full of lettuce mushed up diced tomato and 2 chunks of onion Steak was dry and over cooked. Mushroom sauce tasted gluggy Chips were the hero of the plate Now I didn't get a pic as I left my phone at home but it was horrendous. My partner ordered a steak sandwich to takeaway Now every body knows a good steak sanga Well apparently not the case here Lettuce tomato and steak on 2 pieces of sour dough that's it No sauce no butter no cheese no onion nothing not even beetroot to moisten it And when I confronted the chef who apparently has been a chef for 10 years all he could say to me was "yep" When asked how to prepare a salad "yep" Is medium steak well done steak he said "yep" The manager well I'm assuming the manager just stood there dumbfounded Couldn't even apologise So appalled and disgusted in the...

Customer service needs attention, one staff member is actually really rude. First order in for the night, cheesy garlic bread was edible had a slight taste of freezer burn on bread. Garlic chicken chefs recommendation was not even cooked served with cold mash and onions, wagyu steak over cooked to over medium to well done asked for medium rare more on rare side, veg cold, mash cold, mushroom gravy was a cream sauce tasted the same as one of chicken with a few pieces thrown in this is not gravy. Staff were not impressed that I returned meals and did not even offer refund. It took 45 mins for meals so they should have been right from start, now have to go and get food from elsewhere after spending 100 there unprofessional service and product to say the least and I would not...

Went for breakfast at the Vault and was shocked that the staff/chef weren’t aware of the difference between eggs and dairy… Asked for a scrambled eggs DAIRY FREE (without added cream/milk/butter, stated I only wanted the eggs scrambled in the pan with olive oil). Two staff members tried to argue that eggs are dairy and it’s impossible to have dairy free eggs. Also tried to order two sides for my daughter (as she’s only a toddler and doesn’t eat much at all) and the staff member stated I was not allowed to do this and had to order an entire extra meal, and then I could add what I wanted on top that. When the meals came out we had egg shells in them too. Not...

Visiting to town, saw the rave reviews about the food - decided to order the rib fillet, one with bacon/avo/hollandaise sauce and the other with lemon pepper calamari. Positive note: when we spoke with staff, they were very apologetic and fixed the error. The service at the tavern is honestly amazing, best service we've had - just a shame the food was not great. Both steaks were ordered medium rare, but one came out medium well and the other one was half well done half rare (an incredible feat for any chef - hats off!). Both meals came out cold, bacon was raw, avo sauce was rancid (no hollandaise with it). Very disappointing food, but amazing staff.

Hotel took the mickey by charging $2 each for a tiny pot of barbecue and tomato sauce. Staff seemed to not understand that when you pay $29 for a Parmi you shouldn’t get charged extra for sauce to put on your chips. Despite pointing this out they remained insistent on charging because the menu has a line for steak sauces (peppercorn, mushroom etc). This was a real shame because the food was good, the Southern Cross Parmi was well done and an interesting flavour. Not sure I’d recommend overall given there are many other options in town.
