Fantastic, but what's the point? Yes it's a chairlift that takes you to the top of a 300m high 'hill'. It's the latest technology with auto opening and closing doors, very friendly staff, amazing views but, you walk away with a sense of "I feel ripped off, but I loved it!" I'm confused as to why but I think it has something to do with the whole being able to drive to the top without paying a cent. There was 5 of us and it cost just under $100 to 'ride'. The 'carriages' seat 6 or so comfortably and are very clean and tidy albeit a little drafty. Travellers note: take a pillow or cushion to impart some added comfort and luxury on your butt as the seats are a little hard! Before you get on board a lovely lady takes your photo and gives you a ticket so you can collect your snaps at the top. They are priced ok and come in a lovely cardboard folder. Again, I'm confused as to why I purchased these. They have one of the old chairlift seats at the bottom as a reminder of the good old days when we didn't worry about OH&S, public safety, political correctness or the possibility of taking responsibility for our own actions (what a concept)! Perhaps if I paid near $100 to go on one of those old seats, the adrenalin hype alone would subdue the ripped off feeling!!! There's a cafe at the top so you can spend more money on replenishing expended energy on the 15 - 20 minute seated journey to the top. Definitely go on this attraction. You won't be disappointed but like me you might be confused afterwards without quite...
Read moreThe family and I visited on 9th December 2024. It was a wonderful experience and the views were amazing! The staff were so lovely and helpful EXCEPT for a woman named Kristy (could be spelt differently). We chose to purchase our photos, which ypu pay and collect for at the Summit. We had a woman serve us, and my mum paid with her card. The transaction was approved on the eftpos machine, but the transaction apparently didn't go through to their end. My mum was quickly asked to try again, which declined. She now didn't have enough left in that account. Before my mum pulled out another card to try and pay, I asked to look at her online banking. The first time she tapped, the transaction had gone through. Nothing was pending. This was argued a little with the woman serving us, but I even showed her the banking app (Commbank). A woman named Kristy then came and argued with such attitude, repeatedly saying things like "it hasn't gone through" and "that it would be rejected" . She ended up giving us our photos, but as she walked off she still keeping muttering that it won't go through. The attitude Kristy gave to my elderly mum and I was disgusting. We didn't let it ruin the day, however, 3 stars instead of 5 have been given because of that...
Read moreGreat experience in modern gondolas suspended over bush and roads. Visited 26/3/2022, weather mild and sunny. Travelled up the mountain by car and came down from top. Spectacular views of the Bay, and a bit of Westernport bay. Sailing ships, boats and beaches clearly visible. World class experience. Gondolas are modern and doors open and close automatically. You can move around them to enjoy the vistas. Return ticket is more economical and they offer concession prices also. Food and drink is available at top of mountain with indoor and covered alfresco areas. Heaps of seating and good views just sitting there. They are licenced and prices are reasonable for a tourist destination. Plenty of parking, customer service was outstanding by all staff and snacks were fresh. You'll appreciate what we have in Melbourne by taking this experience. Have included a picture of an original chair lift seat for comparison to the old days. Shows progress. Lots of stuff went overboard in old days, mostly thongs, not now though. Memories to...
