Just about 50kms from CBD. Quite and not crowded at all. Went on a weekend. Few trails that are even accessible by people with limited mobility. Kids will love these short but immersive walks. Good roads to reach this place. Cafe right by the entrance. Heaps of parking for cars and even buses. BBQ area available, not just one but saw few areas, very near to the parking bays. Can get real close to small birds, but make sure you don’t feed them. Make sure you go for walks and look for wildlife, I was not lucky enough to spot any. Toilet available. Few sheds with roofs, just in case if it rains. Cafe and the gift shop looked attractive. Will recommend spending 2 to 3 hrs for walk and bonus is that the famous Puffing billy is not very far from this place.

Sure there is a Cafe, a curio shop and an area to interact with the Cockatoos. However, the walks (or hikes) are really worthwhile. These comprise a short surfaced track and longer tracks that blend into one another. Names like Coles Ridge, Welch Track, Paddy Track, Neuman Track and Lyrebird walk will provide relaxing level walking areas combined with fairly steep ascending and descending gradients. The vegetation is no less breathtaking with huge pencil straight Eucalyptus, numerous tree ferns, expanses of bracken and grass land. Eclectus parrots provide splashes of colour and sightings of wombats and wallabies are possible too. But really, if you want a good 2-3 hour walkout, this is a good place to start.

It’s a shame I have to review this cafe in this way.

Today we 16 friends checked in after finishing our hike. Everyone ordered atleast coffee except one or two. Few of us also ordered food.

Some of the coffee orders were late but we didn’t complain. One of our friends coffee didn’t come and when he asked about it, she said we already delivered. Maybe someone else took your order. Well there are a couple of issues with her claim, i.e. she was accusing that one of your friends drank free coffee. 2. She right away rejected our claim and didn’t ask any of her employees.

For the sake of customer service and courtesy, she could offer a complimentary coffee to him as a thanks that you along with 15 friends came to her cafe instead going to better options just down the road.

Moreover, one of our friends was eating his own lunch; she approached him and said, next time please don’t this, it’s disrespectful. “ Seriously there is a issue with their customer service. There was no...

Always so shady and ‘foresty’! Yum yum part of Melbourne indeed! In fact, every part of the Mt Dandenong’s is nice! There are bbq tables here who live cooking. The cafe is well stocked with vanilla slices and cakes with delicious coffees for lazy bones like me! Once you buy the bird seeds from the store next door, you can have wow picture moments with the big variety of birds at the bird feeding square! Walking around here is always refreshing!! One can do very short walks or very long walks, easy or challenging walks! Take your pick! The walks connect to Belgrave, Alfred Nicholas Garden, Sassafras, Mt Dandenong.... the list goes on! It’s also a popular area for cyclists! Make sure you carry plenty of water, gps , daypack and mobile phone just in case you get lost for...
