I'm kinda confused as to why there is a numbering system to collecting your snacks and drinks?
When my friends and I went to this movie theatre and bought drinks and popcorn beforehand we were told to wait to the side with everyone else but what seemed a 5 minute wait turned into a 20 minute wait.
By the time we thought our orders were ready, the staff in the collection area asked who was next in line and what we ordered which I find very confusing because why have a numbering and ordering system if you don't know what we've ordered. We've never been to another Hoyts or movie theatre that the staff that you ordered from in the first place make you wait to the side in a collection area, they usually or another staff member behind them, grab the food and drinks for you to take after the payment and then you're on your way so there isn't a congestion of different patrons going to different timed movies.
This method of ordering and having a collection area is very confusing and redundant and should be changed. It really does not work and isn't productive. It makes the patrons impatient since they're trying to get to their movie on time and makes the staff stressed out and confused on who is next and what the patrons...

Read moreI went to see a movie here, and this Hoyts was horrifically understaffed. There was long wait times for ticket purchase and the candy bar. I thought maybe we would get in to the movie quickly because we had booked our seats, but we wanted some popcorn and there was only one staff member serving everyone at the counter. At what I would expect to be peak time!
The only reason this review is not 1 star is because the lovely young man who served us was very polite and made the experience far better than it would have otherwise been. He apologised for the wait and - when we asked what was going on - he said they were a little understaffed today (I think that was an understatement! I only saw one other staff member). He kindly showed us to our cinema since we were new to Forest Hill. I didn't get his name, but his name tag said Richard.
Thank you Richard for your kind...
