Kebabsta — Attraction in Melbourne

Decided to try out this place on a random Tuesday night after reading all the high reviews… and discovered that this place really deserves its ratings! A true hidden gem in South Yarra with super fresh, flavourful ingredients and a super hospitable owner. Initially I didn’t really have much expectations beyond a standard ‘kebab’ or hsp joint and yet, what I had here is so much more than that 😃

I had the Kavurma which is this sautéed meat dish with rice and bread … and let me tell you, it was bloody delicious! The bread was super fluffy and soft, not the slightest bit stale like many other kebab places, the rice was really soft and fragrant (not mushy nor too hard), and the sautéed meat and capsicum were high quality and almost ‘healthy tasting’ (as it wasn’t dripping with grease and sauce).

I also tried their homemade baklava (made with love 2 hours ago!) which was not too sweet and the perfect amount of fragrant (I think rose water or orange blossom water).

Overall a very happy customer and was lovely being treated with smiles and friendliness! Definitely...

This place is a hidden gem on Yarra Street near the Metro Station. It's not your usual Kebap place but just great atmosphere and great food! Most of all, the owner/chef makes you feel like a guest in his own house. When I came to him and said I would bring my good friends for dinner and I'd like to make it a very special evening for all of them. There's just one request: there needs to be a gluten free bread, I said. The owner had customised the menu and had served us a variety of Turkish' food in so generous portions and superb taste. It was a lot of food!!! Everyone was saying . . . "amazing!". The plates he used were elegant so thank you from the bottom of my heart! We really appreciate you going above and beyond to accommodate us. I will definitely bring more friends to your place. You definitely deserve the 5 star...

There is a lot to be said about this place. I’d say the highlight is owner Nesh (hopefully I spelled it correctly) he is amazing very hospitable and when he serves you, you know that this place and it’s food are things he is very passionate about. Aside from the amazing owner everyone else working there also has great charm and always greets you with a smile. The food is fantastic and the prices are amazing. The 15 dollar kebab chips and can student deal is unreal. Since moving to south Yarra in a building near them I’ve visited this place many times and have never ever been slightly disappointed. Always great and as long as Nesh keeps up his amazing attitude I don’t see it going any other way. I’m currently writing this overdue review while eating a super delicious kebab...
