A great place to experience nature and semi rural. A lovely walk from magpie car park over to a billabong walk with lovely ponds. From there down a fenced of area that makes you feel as if you are walking amongst farm paddocks. From there into the wetlands where you can see water birds nesting and meandering on the water surface. Then onto a walk over, man made bridges where nature is natural an aesthetic until you come to a pine lined track leading you back to the picnic area. A great spot for families with a very good play ground which would entertain kids for the day. Expansive picnic areas with some under cover and enough room to kick a foot ball and perhaps cricket without disturbing other visitors to the park. Love this park for my 5km...
Read moreGreat local park, went mainly with a toddler. The play area grounds are covered in bark softening any falls. Play equipment is suitable for toddlers up, perhaps more towards 4 or 5 onward. Still the little one had a lot of fun here. Can get busy on weekends but there is always enough car parking. It's right near the flight path into and out of Moorabbin airport so there's a constant assortment of light aircraft and helicopters flying nearby to entertain the kids. Public toilets are available. Generally well maintained, all play equipment in good working order. There is a fence between the play area and car park as they are reasonably close, but the fence is not fully closed off, so keep an eye...
Read moreMy nephew loves going to this reserve. There is an area where there is a little stream that flows to a deeper reservoir. With the right footwear you can walk along the pebbled section and he loves looking for bugs etc. Its also well shaded by beautiful trees, there always seems to be a lovely light breeze blowing through and has a seat for resting if required; it's a lovely peaceful spot. The reserve itself is well pathed which is nice for relaxed riding, there are a number of drinking taps, toilets and a great playground on the Moorabbin Airport side. We go there often. All the walkers, children and co look to be...
