A nice little area of bushland with walk tracks lying behind the local houses (park and enter at Braidwood Ave; don't trust the GPS, we could not see a path entry from street parking near the playground) The park could use some love; signs and general upkeep were quite neglected. Dogs ok on leash. We enjoyed the trees, shrubs and flowers, saw parrots and heard kookaburras. Wetland area was dry but I guess that's down to the weather. It's not a place for a long walk, there's a small loop inside a larger loop, but you can walk the dog and enjoy a slice of the bush; a little playground and a picnic table is there.

This is a little gem of a park in the Melbourne Eastern suburbs. Sure, it's near a highway. But gosh, after 5 minutes of walking you'll be lost in green. And it has a playground, shelter and toilets. What more could you want? I know - native flowers, fruits and a "sensory" path for kids, which it has. Thank you to those visionaries that kept these pockets of native vegetation in urban areas. Get out there - your soul will be nourished.

I go to wombolano park almost every day to ride my bike and walk the dog. it is wonderful and peaceful. It’s super close to the shops so I can get a snack afterwards. I am a photographer so wombolano park is an awesome spot to take photos. I have been many times with my friends and it’s loverly spot to relax, hangout and have fun. I definitely recommend going here. Five stars from me.

5 star for the amazing nature walking paths. The kids play area could have more space, there is more room to add a family space, I would say heaps of room if the toilets were removed.

Dogs love it as much as humans and it’s a friendly community.

Minus -5 star for a council that can’t put dog poo bins at the entry/exit points of the park like nearly every other council in Victoria (yep not just Melbourne… Victoria). It seems to be a common theme for Maroondah Council to be anti bins but crazy for signs to pick up the poo ‘and put it where???’. We pick it up but this anti bin BS is annoying. It would also be great if there was lighting and security cameras for security when it starts getting dark, in the day it’s great but I would not go anywhere near it as...

Wombolano Park is a beautiful remnant bushland reserve; one of the few remaining havens for native flora and fauna in that area.

Roughly half my lifetime ago, while completing a degree in biological sciences, I designed the Sensory Trail for the Council. I then used it to teach local school groups about the ecological values of the reserve.

Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions about it. Instagram and Facebook:...
